This is a tremendous loss to scientists and the public.
My old pal @eniiler.bsky.social with a killer story. What we save defines us as a culture—the archive is our memory and our future. And we’re throwing it away? Madness.

My goal is to fill the starter pack, so please send over suggestions with supporting evidence!

Oh AI, you suck.
I'd bet many people would not take a second look, pause to think critically, or even try to spot problems before passing this off, sharing it, or turning it in as an authentic product of their hard work.
AI is making us stupid and lazy.
For anyone worried AI will replace all of us.

I'll eagerly await the full story in January. In the meantime, I'm increasingly alarmed at the uncritical adoption & evangelical stance of those pushing AI & its rapid incorporation into existing ed tech.
To be blunt, this is not going to help students be anything but fast, sloppy, & less capable.
I had a cool day hanging out with @leevgaines.bsky.social , a freelance reporter for @npr.org! She shadowed me and spoke to many of my students about AI. The full story will come out in January, but please go watch Lee’s TikTok here! www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8yJ1WUu/

Food and treats are a love language, and terrific ways to get your community to come to the library!
It is Create Your Own Hot Chocolate Bar time again!!!

I gift my staff a Hot Chocolate Bar every winter. Is is partially just out of love & kindness...

It is also a scheme to get people in my library! I can chat them up & find out what they are doing in their classes & how I can help!

It works!

The first post in a thread will suffice, please and thank you. Also, if you repost multiple times per minute, it is clear you are not reading or processing before sharing. Please practice good media literacy, for all of our sakes. K thanks bye!
I am once again asking folks not to repost every single post in a long thread, and especially not to do it in the order they're reading. A whole screen full of an extended argument that I've already read is bad enough. All that plus backwards makes me want to mute either the poster or the reposter.
