I have the coolest job, appraising pop culture memorabilia; sports, entertainment & more! Since 1996 I have been an appraiser on #AntiquesRoadshow @roadshowpbs.bsky.social
Did you know that due to his silent, agile, and predatory style of play on the court, Michael Jordan was nicknamed 'The Black Cat' by opponents and teammates alike?

How's that for some Halloween sports trivia?

I believe the character is called Ginny. The tournament trophy is called "The Silver Ginny". I do recall Virginia Slims ads in magazines. One can buy leisure wear with proof of purchase too. Great find! #antiquesroadshow

You’ve come a long way, baby!

This Virginia Slims Cigarettes Banner was likely exhibited at an early 1970s tournament on the new women’s professional tennis circuit sponsored by the brand. The owner found it in an antique shop for $79.

Exhibit Supply cards were almost always black and white or some type of one-color toned cards. They issued cards of various subjects, but specialized in movie stars, cowboys, pretty girls, baseball players, and other athletes.
