For winter driving, you should have these items in your trunk:

Crowbar
Shovel
Chains
Zip ties
Duct tape
Garbage bags
Gloves

Oh, wait, wrong list...

You should never judge a book by it's cover. I had a math book once, and the people on the cover looked like they were having a good time.

That book was NOT a good time.

Last night, I got pulled over for not having my headlights on. The police officer asked me to show him that I knew how to turn them on.

I turned on the windshield wipers instead.

He took my license and made me walk home.

Early this morning, I was driving along a rural road when I hit a turkey! It flew over my car and landed on the windshield of the police car behind me.

He pulled me over and wrote me a ticket for flipping him the bird.

Finished 'The Mantis' by Kotaro Isaka. An interesting addition to the Tokyo underworld Kotaro Isaaka has built. The extract at the end was a little jarring, though.

Next up, 'Home' & 'Network Effect' by Martha Wells.

Reading is fundamental. Fiction, Non-fiction, whatever.

Just read!! 💙📚

Finished 'A Botanist's Guide to Society and Secrets' by Kate Khavari. I've really enjoyed the characters, and the period in which this series is set.

Next up, 'The Mantis' by Kotaro Isaka.

Read a book. Read dozens. Expand your horizons! 💙📚

Finished 'Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil' by V.E. Schwab last night. I loved it. Couldn't help but picture Florence Welch as Sabine.

Next up, 'A Botanist's Guide to Society and Secrets' by Kate Khavari.

Reading keeps me sane in a world bent on insanity! 💙📚

I dropped a can of Thanksgiving fruit on top of my bare foot.

Now I cranberry walk.

Son: can you talk real quick?

Dad: Not like an auctioneer, but I can talk faster than normal if I try really hard.

I got my shot for shingles this morning.

Just to be safe, I got one for vinyl siding as well.

Finished 'Origin' by Dan Brown last night. Another fun entry in the Robert Langdon series. (I did figure out the twist early on, although not the extent)

I'd never seen Frozen, so I asked my granddaughter to summarize it for me.

She looked at me funny for a minute and said, "If I summarize it, it would be called Melted!"

I play the Oboe and the Theremin.

I affect a punk rocker look.

No, we did not get texts back.

Usually a letter. Handwritten. In the mail. A week later.

Or a phone call. Long distance. From 2 towns away.

Or a telegram.

I went to a psychiatrist this morning, and she told me I had split personality disorder. After the visit, she charged me $150.

I paid her $75 and suggested she collect the rest from that other guy.

I made some fish tacos today.

They just ignored them and swam away.

Cowboys would put a lantern on their saddle at night so they could find the trail when they were far from home.

This was early Saddle Light Navigation.
