There are still a whole host of people around that camp that won’t admit that the defeat to NZ was an unmitigated choke job - both in the coaches box as well as down on the field.

Add to that, SP’s glaring physical limitations were minimised while any mistakes from C/F were maximised up the wazoo. Farrell kicked the two boys to the kerb and seemed to go out of his way to avoid saying anything positive.

But social media though….

3 (very) damaged players in a pivotal position. Robbed 2 of them of a decent shot at the Lions and all the development that goes with that but the Irish rugby media cabal couldn’t have cared less because as far as they were concerned, Sam was the new Jonny and that’s all that mattered. Insane 🤷🏻‍♂️

Farrell is the one with the case to answer. Prendergast is a young kid who’s been very badly handled by his coach. It’s been a masterclass in player mismanagement by the Irish brains trust. Crowley and especially Frawley have been completely fk’d about.
February 18, 2026 at 9:24 PM
Still this
If we’re serious about winning the 6N then we go back to Crowley with Frawley as the cover / finisher. Saturday confirmed that the Prendergast project is at least a year early and he’d be better off developing at a pace that he can physically play to. We won’t get away with it against France.

I just think that it’s ironic that the Irish government taxes ‘the living shit’ out of some of the (relatively) safest, most diversified products out there. It’s just insane.

I can see the RTÉ journalist losing their mind on this one already!! In fact, I think I already did

But… but… “what about Eircom shares”??? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I’m always fascinated with how the Irish government can spend hundreds of millions / billions on various outsourcing initiatives but yet never manage to implement a properly functioning quality assurance program to oversee them. This, IPAS, hospital cleaning etc.

The pits

10/10 must go to the Irish Rugby management team for very successfully diverting people’s attention away from their own job performance.
'There is always someone who has a different opinion,' says Johnny Sexton. 'So yeah I knew when to stay away and had all the different settings so it was only those close to me that could contact me and that’s probably the best advice I got and can give to the guys now'

Anyone on X (incl. the IRFU) complaining about this abuse also need to acknowledge that they are part of the problem. X is an irredeemable cesspit and has been so since Musk took over. There is no excuse for being on that platform anymore.

People can’t have their cake & eat it here.

This was the Six Nations Documentary that they should have made. Instead they gave us that anodyne “full contact” rubbish.

I can’t believe that our attacking performances ‘post Catt’ hasn’t been discussed more. Feels like it could be a bit like a ‘Brian Clough without Peter Taylor’ type of situation!!

Pers I didn’t think that Sexton earned his spot either - looked terrible and we’ve not had the results to justify it
February 16, 2026 at 4:56 PM
I mean, when he was questioned about Sam’s pretty appalling defensive stats, his shtick re: them being “work ons” and just batting it away was just insulting to everyone’s intelligence. I can’t help but feel that Farrell is primarily responsible for this mess.
February 16, 2026 at 4:54 PM
I don’t think it’s on either but at the same time, Farrell has to be cognisant of all of the elements of International professional sport too and his indignation regarding the inevitable criticism for glaring flaws has been something to behold.
February 16, 2026 at 4:51 PM
I’ve pointed out legitimate things on here over the last 18mths - stuff where I just couldn’t believe was being tolerated / minimised in a professional rugby setting. I’ve had plenty of lads down my throat about it with no attempt to debate the real legitimacy of the criticisms.

Andrew Trimble came out with maybe the biggest shithouse example of this last week on Second Captains. Never misses an opportunity to have a go.
February 16, 2026 at 4:45 PM
Indefensible behaviour but likewise I tend to steer clear of that shite and I cant believe that it makes up for anything like a majority of posts.

Any negative commentary about Sam has, up to relatively recently, been characterised on media as just “parochial griping from disgruntled Munster fans”
February 16, 2026 at 4:44 PM
100% 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻

I think that there’s been a huge frustration built up because Farrell (amplified by a willing media) sought to push the narrative that obvious things that people saw with their own eyes were “wrong”. Like, some of the stuff written about the chap in the last 18mths was ludicrous.
