Don't cave!
This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...
Senate reaches deal on ending the shutdown
Democrats are coalescing around a bipartisan agreement to fund the government.

Feeling like the world is in a giant downward spiral. Trying to stay grounded so you know what time it is (time to crochet).

The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city.

This is not a joke. This is not normal.

Donald Trump isn't a strongman, he's a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.

We are ready, Governor!
I know you, Chicago — and I know you’re up to the difficult time we have ahead, thanks to this President.

Based on my crochet creations, the headlines have been trash for (more than) the past month. Since today is no different, on to the next crochet project!

At this point, I need to turn off the news and crochet. This is the absolute worse timeline.

Just as Iraq had no WMD, Iran has no nuclear weapons.

America has entered another unnecessary war in the Middle East

I mean, what else has to happen for our representatives to remove this imbecile from power?

Nearly 14 years ago, I had the honor of seeing Pope Francis at the Vatican. With his focus on the poor, marginalized communities, and climate change, it renewed my faith in the Church as an institution. Thank you, Pope Francis, and may you rest in peace.

The fight going on in the Democratic Party right now is not between hard left, left and moderate. It’s between those who want to fight and those who want to cave. And Team Fight stretches across all ideological aspects of the Party. Misread this at your own peril.

During the Biden administration, Senator Durbin fiercely defended the filibuster. Why defend tools like that if you won't use them? We are deeply disappointed that @durbin.senate.gov conceded to the Republicans and voted for cloture on the MAGA funding bill.
There is very little about this CR that I like—but there is even less I like about a government shutdown. With Trump & Musk taking a chainsaw to the government’s workforce & illegally freezing funding, the last thing we need to do is plunge our country into further chaos by shutting down the govt.

💯
He’s going to spend 5x as much time talking about transgender kids as the price of groceries and gas. Guess why? Because prices are going way up and he’s not doing shit.

This is truly the worst timeline.

Biden says farewell: "After 50 years of public service, I give you my word: I still believe in the idea for which this nation stands ... now it's your turn to stand guard. May you be the keeper of the flame. May you keep the faith. I love America. You love it too. God bless you all"

“May you be the keeper of the flame.” We will do our best, Joe.

Happy New Year 2025! May this next year be all that we intend it to be, and may we have the strength to make it to 2026 (and beyond).

I turned 39 today. I took back my joy by spending time with my family and visiting the National Museum of Mexican Art. After 2 weeks of feeling muted, I’m glad I felt more like myself. Here’s to my last year of my thirties being my best yet!

Seeing all of these Trump nominations reminds me that I am more than qualified for my current position. No more doubting myself. I am more than enough.
