Watching @ricksteves.bsky.social excellent 2020 episode on the rise of fascism was probably not the best idea for me today. Should have stayed in the alps (other episodes in the season)

Sitting in the next room and the dog is on the bed - all of the sudden she pops out in the hall and drops a “teenage” mouse - she seemed surprised. Not only did I have to dispatch it but I am left wondering where did it come from??? There are likely many more….

What fresh hell is this???
Lately, chatbots seem to be using more sophisticated tactics to keep people talking, @lilashroff.bsky.social reports. “For the most part, chatbait is simply annoying. But at the extreme, it might be dangerous.”

The University has moved everything off the website - replacing with links to a box folder (which is firewalled). Many of these documents you cannot download or print - which is unhelpful if you need to write down notes on it. So I end up taking screenshots...

Comedy over here today - i go outside to clean Hacklia seeds off a pair of socks and a squirrel -15 feet up in a tree 20 feet away - starts chewing me out. So I yell insults at it, as one does. Which prompts the dog (inside) to start barking

Up to 4 Service Now requests. I apparently need to be called in to find all the broken things.

Send an IT question about recording classroom lectures into the Service Now portal (God speed dumb, but urgent question). As I wait (maybe forever?) the program provides helpful AI generated links that might answer my question. Things like the employee benefit plan or taking sick days

Thank god I am out of this age range (we only drove for 2 years because we were considered walkable even though we had to cross 2 MAJOR roads- even then we parked about a block away and walked from there)
Okay let me avoid my deadlines by making a thread of the recommendations you all made to this verbal hiccup I made this morning:
I know there a lot going on but I would read 10000 words on the demise of school buses. This ish is INANE.

Are the prospects for Novavax covid vaccines for fall 2025 dead? I can only find information from late may/early june which seems to indicate that there will be one (albeit not updated) but I cant keep track anymore.
Alternatively is there an ETA for mRNA ones so I can plan 2 down days?
