Here's a giant thread of life advice I wish I had growing up:
My criticisms of cursive from when I was 6 are still valid.

I think that people who believe in conspiracy theories have never had to run a group project.

Plausibly faking the moon landing and having it unquestioned for four decades, with the number of people involved and the audit-proof paper trail, would be more impressive than the moon landing.

The more I read about the Demon Core accident, the more I am shocked that anyone allowed those experiments to occur. The man doing the experiments should never have been allowed near radiation sources.

I'm going to stop referring to #autistic special interests as such and instead refer to the person as a [special interest] specialist.
November 6, 2025 at 7:27 PM
#Autistic humor is just making sincere observations and then laughing along when it turns out that you're hilarious.

Why is this funny? No one knows.

We're going to get socialism for AI before we get it for people.
BREAKING: OpenAI is requesting US government support to help guarantee financing for the massive investments in AI chips and data centers it needs for expansion, per Bloomberg.

No one laughs at my referring to picking up my youngest and carrying her away as "performing a sisterectomy."

When a person is in the depths of cynicism and doesn't believe anyone, they are at their most gullible because they can not recognize truth.

Unfortunately, they also believe that they are at their least gullible.

We assume that war is a military engagement, but it is 2 or more economies slamming into each other, and the biggest spender wins.

There is nuance to this. All of military strategy is to get your opponent to send less than you. Also, you can only spend so much from an economy before it breaks.

I really wish I could get data on the percentage of people that buy into the alpha/beta/etc. different types of male and also believe that gender strictly only has 2 options.

I suspect it's 100%, but I would like empirical data.

I've heard a lot of people talk about the trolley problem for exposing how you value a life or what you do in situations with no right answer.

I don't think I have heard anyone use it to show that inaction is an action that supports the status quo.

I would like to learn who figured out that, if you just a scene in a show or movie awkward enough, you don't actually have to tell a joke, you don't have to be funny, people will just laugh out of discomfort. And for some reason, they'll remember it being funny because they laughed.

Confession time: I do use AI art for DnD homebrew stuff, but never for anything that I could make money off of and only for my group, so they can have a visual for monsters.

But, I've noticed that AI art is getting worse.

Halloween is my favorite holiday. It's the only day where you get to present yourself however you want without fear of judgment, strangers are welcomed, and we give people treats for expressing themselves.

Academically, I know that Adderall is addictive, but this is very hard for me to wrap my mind around. I have #ADHD and my brain processes stimulants very differently than normal brains, so I struggle to make myself take it every day.

Before doing anything like shorting in the stock market, remember that actually knowing what you're doing is illegal.

I guess this is how artists felt on seeing all the AI "art."

I'm becoming increasingly convinced that all AI-enthusiasts are actually LLMs.
Oh my god some fucking tech dingdong posted this on Twitter with the caption "AI games are going to be amazing" totally seriously, you have to watch it. You have to. In full screen.

Not that anyone asked, but what's happening at the White House right now is what the 4th plane on 9/11 was intended to do.

If you feel like you aren't good enough to try something, just remember that there are definitely people doing a worse job than you would, getting paid to do it, and, unlike you, have no intention of improving. #impostersyndrome #selfworth

The opposite of "zoomies" is "gloomies."

I really appreciated how, in Space Marine 2, when other squads go off on side-missions, they actually succeed.

It actually caught me off-guard, because I am so used to having to clean up the other squad's failure in games.

People ask me what my taste in music and the truth is that I do not know. Basically, every band has one song that I like, but precious few have more than 3. To date, the only albums that I felt were worth buying were Plans and My Head Is An Animal.

I can't think of a single definition of "gender-affirming care" that doesn't include me lifting weights at the gym.

Actually listening to the words of songs has been extremely detrimental to my enjoyment of them.
