They're demonizing SNAP and other recipients of federal aid on right wing media.
Of 21 million federal aid beneficiaries, ~70% work full-time and 39% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. Critics need to ask Amazon and Walmart why they won't pay enough for their employees to survive w/o food stamps.

I looked it up once. SNAP takes 2% of the US budget and 93% of the money goes to the actual poor people instead of to the bureaucracy. So it's kind of like if you paid $1000 in taxes, you spent $20 on the poor of which they got to keep $18.60, and you spent $166.66 on the military.
SNAP is probably the most effective federal dollar we spend in terms of long term domestic economic outcomes.

The Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments right now re: the Voting Rights Act and maps — If folks are so concerned about minority.voting blocks, maybe they shouldn’t have created segregated neighborhoods through redlining. This could have been avoided if we didn’t let let fear guide our actions.
