Today, the Fire Museum hosted the Family Support Group & Fire Hogs for lunch. The FSG is a source of support for those who have lost loved ones on the job. A huge thanks to the Fire Hogs for the $17k donation to go toward college scholarships for the children of our fallen FFs.

Today marks the 6-year anniversary of the launch of the #LACoFD Advanced Provider Response Unit program.  The program is designed to target patients w/low to medium acuity, manage their acute medical needs in the field, & redirect them to appropriate levels of care and follow-up.

A Little Free Library was installed at FS 87 on 11/8 in memorial to the Garcia family that lived next door. Captain Wilson, w/support from FS 105 & 87, made this installation possible, in honor of their neighbors - Santos & Concepcion Garcia, both who recently passed.

Our team has been truly humbled & inspired by the strength and spirit of the Jamaican people. We wish all affected continued healing, hope & progress as recovery continues.

#LACoFD USA-2 continues to support the U.S. Department of State response to #HurricaneMelissa by distributing food kits to communities that remain difficult to access.  The team is supporting overall response efforts by conducting medical assessments & assisting to restore access routes.

Dia De Los Muertos is a two day holiday to honor and commemorate the lives of the dearly departed & to welcome the return of their spirits. Families often create ofrendas to honor their departed family members that have passed.

The #LACoFD international USAR team, USA-2, activated by the U.S. Department of State is responding to Jamaica in wake of #HurricaneMelissa. USA-2 is comprised of 34 members, 4 canines & 42,000 lbs. of equipment. 

Our thoughts & prayers go out to all affected by this devastating hurricane.
