I am interested in anthropology, astronomy, scientific breakthroughs, LGBTQ+ issues, and ethics. I crochet🧶nearly compulsively. Surreal or sci-fi memes & pet pictures carry me through the day. I enjoy the crafty, curious, & occasionally creepy.
When did I become a romantic? Aimee is on a plane coming home, and the sense of relief I feel is so profound. I feel like my heart is coming back to me.

Happy suicide prevention month. I found this screenshot from twitter and found it oddly motivational.

We can't eat our way out of a creeping bellflower invasion. But we can chew through other tough problems, like shaping food systems around consumerism. Or thinking it's weird to pull a weed out of the park and eat it. My latest for the @startribune.com

I do love playing 1994 SNES game Earthbound, A.K.A. “The Steve Game” in our house. It is a trippy, tongue in cheek RPG where you name the characters and your favorite thing before knowing much about the game. It is available on the switch. I recommend checking it out. (Name people & things silly).

Twice in less than a month. So annoyed. But also not feeling super ill this time…yet.

I made a Zote the Mighty costume for Hollow Knight for CONvergence out of materials in my house and some pool noodles I got for free off of Craigslist. I found a Hollow Knight and a Hornet, too! It was a lot of fun. I handed out scrolls with the 57 precepts of Zote.

I started an obscure, cartoony costume last night for a convention that starts Thurs. I think I’m going to pull it together with scrounged materials from my closet, craft stash, and 2 free pool noodles I got from a stranger off of Craigslist last night. I do enjoy the thrill of last minute crafting.

I continue to be the type of person who, on the day she is completely over Influenza B, mows the lawn, weeds the garden, harvests mulberries, and stays up too late making a pie. I couldn’t stand not getting those things done when I was sick. It ate at me. I also recognize it is unhealthy/unhelpful.

I spent the day making whiskey bottles out of beads, paper, nails, and wire because I couldn’t abide the cutout ones in the kit. These are my first made up bottles, though. I like how they turned out. Toothpick in front for scale. #miniature

This was on the long abandoned Minneapolis 3rd precinct today. It is almost as good as the time someone slapped a Spirit Halloween store banner on there.

It is finally done! I finally finished my tryptic of #miniature kitty rooms! These are each about 4 inch cubes and almost entirely made of laser cut paper and glue. They make me quite happy. They were the only kits I have come across I almost didn’t modify.

Cheerios Veggie Blends Apple Strawberry is so yummy! It is what I want fruit loops to taste like but never does. It is dried strawberry and candied carrot forward. My body thanks me for every bite. I hope it sticks around. @generalmills.com

The only dating advice I can offer is to assume that time is present in the field, but is not displayed, when doing calculations or filters, if your results seem off.
The only dating advice I can offer is that someone somewhere will have forgotten about leap years and it will break all your code.
The only dating advice I can offer is that if the date isn't written on an archival document, you may determine a date from context clues and use "circa," or else use "undated."

Bluesky can be a shitshow of an echo chamber. It is looking more and more like twitter everyday. I offered a dissenting opinion on a thread. After 20 minutes of replying to bad faith arguments, I deleted all my replies. Considering unfollowing OP. Ugh. I might wander back to Mastodon for a while.
