Hey BC doctors.
It is not ok to charge palliative patients private pay fees for opioid prescriptions.
Like, ever.
This medication class is essential for quality of life. Changes in dosing are common & essential. Getting to the clinic when you are dying from eg cancer, can be complicated.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

Last night was very special for me. I was invited to speak to kidney transplant pts about PTLD, aka lymphoma that develops as a result of the immunosuppressive meds for transplant. In lymphoma circles we brush it aside due to its rarity, but it’s a worry for organ transplant recipients. 1/2

This excerpt from a Dog Man cartoon by Dav Pilkey shows Lil’ Petey’s robot 80-HD performing DNA testing to identify his grandfather.
“Chunka chunka chunka- Ding!” is probably as much as most adults know about DNA testing. Improving science literacy has never been more urgent.
