It's #AceWeek so a little teaser for the book I hope to send on sub soon, in which two co-stars in a high budget comic book adaptation fight the straightwashing of a canonically ace character... and their feelings for each other.

The last book I sent on sub had a very pastel goth aesthetic and the next book going out is a beachy-sunrise palette in my mind. So I gave my website a little makeover.

At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

Work was a little hectic today but honestly the most stressful days at my corporate job are less stressful than an average Tuesday in grad school.

Been trying to put together an articulate bit of praise for this book, which I just finished, and I can't. Please consider! Reading it!

Thought-provoking and one of the most interesting magic systems I've ever encountered.

Trying to figure out if I have any friends with the exact crossover interests required to appreciate a Astarion as Preminger piece of fan art I just found.

Dating someone from work felt more romantic before I remembered our meet cute was over Microsoft Teams.

Googled a book and got a spoiler in the AI summary. Super cool, thanks Google.

Why is Valentine's stuff also so aggressively allohet
Excited about the concept of a couple's costume because I've never had a parnter during Halloween but I was googling ideas and why are all them so... aggressively allohet.

Going to repost some of my favorite Black books that I've talked about on BlueSky but aslo if you ever need a Black book rec, I can provide them for a pretty wide range of genres.

cw: car crash

A lot of local people are rightfully pushing for increased traffic safety infrastructure in the wake of a fatal pedestrian/vehicle accident. And nobody treats it as "politicizing a tragedy" because "How do we prevent this from happening again" is a normal humane response to tragedy.

Added the cutest bff scene in this round of revisions.

Even when I write romance, I want the friendships to get a chance to shine and for the best friends to feel like fully developed characters with their own issues going on.

I like to reframe the "show don't tell advice" as learn to trust your readers. Trust them to pick things up from context and then your writing becomes about giving them the right context they need to understand the story.

It should absolutely be part of the conversation that Greenland's population is primarily indigenous Greenlandic Inuit (Kalaallit,Tunumiit, and Inughuit).

I enjoy romantasy and traditional fantasy and the full spectrum between the two, but they're all shelved together these days and I never know what genre conventions to expect when picking up a new read.

I made the cat one for my sister and her roommate loves it so much she went out and got a kit to learn how to embroider. Which makes me so happy.

Making art is so nice, and honestly embroidery is an easy, fairly affordable craft. Definitely recommend if you're looking for something crafty to do.
Two embroidery pieces I finished this week (for Christmas gifts). Yeah, I've got range.

The art I got from Ayumi is really freaking cute. Definitely recommend if you're looking for character art.

Grateful as an ace person to have friends getting excited about and celebrating the relationship milestones that are important to me, rather than just the ones allonormative culture thinks are important.

We have a bigot state rep attempting to rename SLC's Harvy Milk Blvd after Charlie Kirk. And while I hope he's unsuccessful, I do find some amusement that they want to honor Kirk with the gayest street in the city. Changing the name doesn't change the street, which is full of queer affirming spaces.

The Texans, the youngest team in the NFL, have been around longer than ICE
When I was 11 years old I arbitrarily decided I was going to be a Texans fan. And it is truly an honor that after all these years, my team is sticking it to Aaron Rodgers.

I've watched maybe three Texans games ever but that's neither here nor there. THEY ARE MY TEAM. I said so when I was 11.

Doing revisions, cutting and moving stuff and utterly effing up my chapter numbers once again.
"I'm a woman in STEM" I cry to myself as I renumber my chapters yet again because I keep miscounting them somehow.
