Saw an eccied sheep garden ornament today so it's not all bad.

Today reminding me that all this stuff in Westminster is just a game to them. It really means nothing to them because ultimately they know they'll come out ok. Really no different from the drama on a series of Real Housewives. They know there's a book deal or spin-off waiting when they fuck off.

Got one of those little cuts right at the edge of my mouth where my top and bottom lips meet...but I haven't ate any ice poles. And there is no other way that this happens.

I need something. Anything. To cling to.

Love it it when he rolls this one out. The only Shakespeare text that survives today in his own handwriting. Which is apt. Like a warning through time. A lesson we never learn. Or are told to forget that we did.
Magnificent

It would be such a *chef's kiss* moment if JK's seemingly Pandora's box of links to Epstein the child trafficker, shut down her terf fundraising TV series aimed at children (and adult children) before it even aired and all those ghouls sold their souls to appear in it for nothing.

I kinda wish that I knew one of those gays that was born in the 00s, and goes around describing everything as cunt so that I could show them 90s Tori Amos videos and rewire their little brains.

This is why they want to build all their shitty data centers in my back garden. Steal all our natural resources for knock down prices and destroy the environment they come from. Same as it ever was.

Sauchiehall Street is just gonna end up a baron strip of naff shops and student flats. All the cultural buildings are being allowed (or pushed) to ruin. At least there will be a fleeting view of what's left as you zoom by on the shiny new bike lane.

Went to see Song Sung Blue. Whilst I'm still not convinced by Kate Hudson's nom at the Oscars (over Chase), it did have best reactions by an audience in a cinema. Including one guy who left and when he came back and was presumably told what he'd missed, exclaimed "Oh no. Fuck sake yer joking!"

Saw a clip of an interview with the woman who Alex Pretti was trying to help when he was murdered. The majority of the clip was her justifying why she said the word "fuck" after the big serious journalist asked her why she said it...whilst someone was executed feet away from her. Maddening.
This continued infantalisation of language around trauma really baffles me. Describing someone as being 'unalived by a pew pew' is not saving anyone from trauma. Especially when you say it whilst showing a video of someone being executed in broad daylight.

This hasn't happened the past couple of days. I was prevented from scrolling too far.

And yes I am having haggis for dinner tonight, which earns me 10 Scottishness points. But not in a wobbly pile like you got in school. I like mine in slices. Or if I can't get slices, I actually like the vegetarian haggis.

I've not seen If I had Legs I'd Kick You but I have seen Hamnet. I cried. But I know that I'll want Rose Byrne to win at the Oscars. Provided I actually get to see it after the February 20 release date battle royale at my cinema of choice. And I love Jessie Buckley. Seen her live. Met her.

Update: Bought a nice navy tartan double-breasted number. When I tried on my size (40R thank you), and looked in a mirror; reader I looked good. I never feel that trying on clothes. But my front was tight and that lil flap at the back was sitting on my bum so good. Not even been training recently
I don't wear kilts. I've got some good blazers but I wanted to buy something especially for it. I thought this would be a good source of inspo but the guys all just wear the same tuxedos. Maybe an odd velvet blazer. V boring. There was some good cummerbund action going on though. I have one of them.

My Oscar hot take is that Jacob Elordi's nomination has more to do with the poster for Wuthering Heights than it does Frankenstein.
January 23, 2026 at 9:14 PM
Went to see (the not Oscar nominated!?) No Other Choice at my earliest opportunity. I considered going to see The History of Sound afterwards, but it strikes me as a film a bit too high on its own supply. So I'm going to watch Mulholland Drive instead.

I mean the artists who do the actual painting could show a bit of fucking solidarity and just not. See how far the fucking ai gets with making the paint stick to the wall.

I went to see "The Bone Temple" and "Hamnet" today. And had a traumatizing Zara experience sprinkled between the two. So I am in a great headspace
