Computers were a skill. They were taught in classrooms as a skill. Skills give you power over your tools because you work them as an expert and that is leverage to multiply externally.

And then computers became an A/B tested telemetry-based advertising conduit to brains for SaaS recurring revenue.

Today is the final day the USPS recommends mailing your ballot in.

MAGA attacks on the postal service mean that if you mail it after today, it may not be counted.

If you can’t mail today, turn it in at your nearest ballot drop box, locations can be found here: www.sos.wa.gov/elections/vo...

The main achievement of the tech industry has been increasing the flow of money from people who make or do things to people who already have more money than they could spend in a hundred lifetimes
“Average musician makes $12 a month on Spotify. The fact that they are not even able to sell a record and it’s taken from them by rich motherfuckers on streaming platforms who get paid royally by record labels,Ticketmaster, merch companies. They’re all fucking getting paid, except for the musician.”

This is why we fund scientists to study things like oyster slobber even if you don’t think it sounds important
⚠️ Chinese researchers have invented bone glue that mimics how oysters stick to surfaces underwater.

The adhesive can reportedly repair orthopedic fractures in 2-3 minutes, even in blood-rich environments, and is bioabsorbable.

— virtue signals about supporting US manufacturing
— against increasing the minimum wage
— buys foreign imports because they're cheap

It would honestly not surprise me if "certain areas" of Xbox gaming are just the teams and leadership members who refuse to mindlessly slurp the AI development hose, given hoinsanely hard Microsoft is shoving it into everything

Jeez, maybe don't watch the trailer for Hail Mary Project if you haven't read the book. They really made no effort to produce a trailer focusing on the premise and not...a lot of the story.

Also, consider reading the book! The audiobook is also good!

People who make streaming apps - why do you put autoplay at the end of movies? What user study convinced you that what people want at the end of a movie watching experience is for a different movie that they didn't choose to just start a minute into the credits?
