What a test, incredible stuff in the last 50 from the Lions to dig themselves out of the massive hole they dug themselves. Tough on Australia obviously, but they’ve come so far in a week, never mind the last year. They’ll be alright

Special for Ronan O’Gara to give a mention to Jim Stynes and his legacy in the Lions build up this morning. There aren’t enough characters in a tweet to sum up Jim and all he achieved, but his memoir ‘My Journey’ published shortly after his untimely death is well worth a read.

Some thoughts after sleeping for a bit on that Scotland result.
The good:
1) This Fiji side is superb and it’s always good when sides play rugby the way they do and get results.
2) Fergus Burke is legit, the future at 10 is bright.
3) Matt Fagerson, Rory Darge & Jamie Dobie were all great

Some journey for Huw to finally become a Lion. Injury during his breakout 16/17 campaign ended his chances of going on the NZ tour. Was in terrible form for the couple of years leading up to 2021 partly due to Dave Rennie playing him at 15 which meant he wasn’t picked for SA

Given sides like Western Force only become a focus of rugby in the UK & Ireland for a couple of days every 12 years, it’s a shame that in the build up on Sky there’s been nothing about the rollercoaster 12 years they’ve had since the last time the played the Lions.

The first preseason game was on the 31st of August.
250 man games lost to injury this season.
It’s been an uphill battle all season, and unfortunately we made it harder at times than it already was.

Coming up against the most expensively assembled side rugby has ever seen, you need to have everyone playing at a 7/10 at least. I don’t think there’s a single player that’s worth even a 4 today

40 minutes from hell. Conditions obviously not ideal for how Glasgow want to play, but at this level they have to be able to adapt. Can’t score when we’re constantly playing in our own half.
