This squad certainly isn't as fun as the Expos, or the 92-93 Jays. They are fun however. I'm late to this bandwagon, but I really want them to win. They can even visit Rideau Hall for the LOLs #worldseries

In this turbulent world glad to see some good news. The Canada Games are returning to New Brunswick! Kudos to all involved in organizing the SJ-Moncton bid. Now to bring back Fiddle Edd!

If PM Carney placed a Canada Flag on John Turner’s grave as a campaign stop he would win 250 seats because of elbows up etc etc
Carney: "The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation is over."

This is a lot more nuanced and less schtick-y than the first take. Still, Mike Myers comes across as quite earnest - who would have thunk that celeb endorsements (a very unCanadian thing, I might add) would have some traction?
Canada is everything.

I'm always late to every party, but just started watching the Bear and learned the chap who plays Fak was born in Saint John. It's a somewhat think link (kind of like Donald Sutherland RIP) but it's always fun to know when the cool kids are linked to your city

Happy #StPatricksDay Saint John! I used to post this historic photo of a leprachaun chilling by Partridge Island over on that other site, but the little guy seems much happier here

I know this is satire but to be honest I think Canada would be better off if this historic brand was given to Indigenous Nations instead of liquidated entirely

It also makes a compelling case for investing in built heritage, which is something that most governments in Canada (fed/prov/municipal) don't do nearly enough.
The history here at the Notre-Dame Cathedral reminds us that rebuilding for a stronger, better future is always possible.

I was grateful to have been welcomed for a visit in Paris this morning.

Is there an Ig Nobel for Peace? If so, does POTUS "efforts" in support of Ukraine peace count?

I'm sure others have asked (and I don't really care, given how I'm trying to limit my exposure to US politics) but why exactly does Newsom have a podcast? I know he has ambitions and an ineptitude in choosing podcast guests, but more pressingly doesn't he have a major state to govern?

Also, Dems should push back hard against the WHOLE ANNEXING CANADA shenanigans. Make every northern US R own the idea that their President wants to upend 70+ years of military co-operation and almost 40 yrs of free trade with a northern neighbour and they're somehow fine riding the crazy train
Critical messaging for Dems if they're being forced into a shutdown. Undo the cuts to Social Security, VA health care, cancer care research. Put the DOGE boys into a boxes w chaperones if the Republican want help. NEED TO BE CRYSTAL CLEAR about what's at stake immediately in peoples lives.

A timely reminder that Saint John was literally incorporated as a city by American refugees who saw themselves as the 'good' Americans. We'll endure, as will the rest of Canada. www.cbc.ca/player/play/...

I know public pension funds are supposed to be immune from political pressures etc etc but the largest holdings of Vestcor (which runs NB pensions) include Meta, Amazon of course Tesla. All of their key shareholders attended the inaugural of a president that has launched economic war against Canada

It's small potatoes in terms of economic impact, but I hope part of GNB's economic action plan in response to the tariffs is a subsidized year-round ferry to Campobello. That island was once home to the best example of US leadership (in FDR), and its Cdn residents shouldn't be left behind
