It’s Fall Break and teachers/school staff have the whole week off. The District admins have sent 19 emails since 4pm last Friday. I’m off and I refuse to read any of them. See you next week.

My father-in-law contracted mad cow from eating infected beef overseas. Watching his brain turn to mush as he slowly died was horrible.
If you eat meat like me and don’t know what a mad cow tastes like, you will get your chance after January 20th, 2025.

My daughter started subbing last year. It is hard work. She is mostly at my school, I teach 5th grade. Yesterday, she won SUB OF THE MONTH for the whole district. I’m so proud of her!! 🥰

This is a very hard school year for me. 28 5th graders, 2 BIG behavior kids, 4 who never turn anything in, several crazy parents. Thank gawd for my amazing teaching partner and my great admin team. 😩

This is great! But you know what would be better? If parents would actually parent their kids and stop expecting the schools (and everyone else) to raise their kids.
Until parents make education a priority, teach kids accountability, and stop letting their kids be the boss-schools will continue to struggle and fail.

Home sick today bc yesterday I started throwing up while teaching my 5th grade. I actually tried to just throw up and stay anyway. Why? Because it’s easier to be there sick than it is to plan for a sub. 🤢😢
