AMELIA in M3GAN 2.0 was a nice little nod to Japanese illustrator Hajime Sorayama, whom a lot of people remember as the artist behind the November 1980 Heavy Metal cover.
Two pictures. On the left is a still of AMELIA from MEGAN 2.0. On the right is the Nov 1980 issue of Heavy Metal. Both silver robots are very similar, with a long, lit single eye slit and small, straight antennae for ears.

Two-Headed Calf by Laura Gilpin Tomorrow when the farm boys find this freak of nature, they will wrap his body in newspaper and carry him to the museum. But tonight he is alive and in the north field with his mother. It is a perfect summer evening: the moon rising over the orchard, the wind in the grass. And as he stares into the sky, there are twice as many stars as usual.

I woke up this morning to find that some maggot had climbed up on our porch to steal our Pride flag from the mounting bracket on the front of our house. They also took our "It's OK to be Gay" yard sign.

The hate continues to spread in this country like cancer.

While my short story, "Cracked Pearl," marinates, I'm revisiting an older story.

It's been rejected many times, but I still love it. So I make tweaks and send it back out.

I'm done with the current draft and they're about ready to go back out.

We just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. I made my wife her favorite cake, angel food cake. And my wife's gift to me? Punk Rattus Mermaid from Cryptic Creatures Taxidermy! I named her Bessica.

I'm back to an older story that just can't find a home.

It's a queer medical horror story about a male sex worker whose encounter with a client leads to a truly scarring experience.
