One of the only things I appreciate about Trump is the way he exposes small-government conservatives and evangelical Christians as being completely full of shit.

Republicans in congress who confirmed these cabinet level incompetents, who now must spend countless hours questioning them in committees and hearings, are getting a really important management lesson on why it’s easier to hire the right person for the role in the first place.

Paraphrasing Scott Galloway: Consider a national economic strike. Drop spending in every household by 5-10% to hit the GDP, since those in charge care for nought about markets and shareholders. Since markets so deep on AI, delete/unsubscribe from ChatGPT. Something to consider-we are not powerless.

Petty side note: Trying to make the Donroe Doctrine a thing is a real reach when there’s clearly no idea what’s even next for the country we just invaded, much less a cohesive foreign policy plan.

I wonder how George W is feeling while he does some watercolors today, given that he opened this door a couple decades ago. Prediction: word of the year 2026 will be quagmire.

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

New Pope?! Great time to announce the new surgeon general pick, an RFK, Jr pal who would like you to know that birth control is disrespectful to life, infertility is a crisis, and that the FDA should be reformed because it might affect her bro’s medical tech company. We are lucky Holmes is in jail.

I wonder why Musk is focused on the federal civilian workforce (4% of the budget) and not federal contractors, which account for 3x more annual spending and are more prone to waste, fraud, and abuse?

the definition of adult vs child is always arbitrary but goddamn, the choices we make. 19: a child if you're trans and looking for healthcare. 12: an adult if you're Black and you've stolen a bike. 25: a kid if you're a white mass shoooter. 13: an adult if you're a girl getting married
The 20-year-old hackers are not “little boys” or “kids.” To call them such is to minimize the gravity of their actions. When I recall the long history of criminalizing Black youth and designating them “adults,” this makes my blood boil. The racialized construction of “childhood” holds strong.

You know, I have always felt awful for the people that either make it almost to retirement or just past and have some kind of major injury or illness. But not for Mitch McConnell. I am not sad at all.
