So there are a lot of bad things going on this weekend, but Mariners baseball thankfully was not one of them. What a game today!

Anyone who says “we need a Joe Rogan of the left” and then looks to political voices or thinks of a political podcast is completely misunderstanding the assignment. Joe Rogan got popular by talking about aliens and UFOs and dumb but fun shit people wanted to hear. The politics crept in later. (cont)

A really good thread on the dynamics of protest.
ok so!!! something I found really interesting after talking to Korean protesters was... well, it was actually me realizing something about protest in the US: protest is trapped in an unwinnable spiral about "peaceful" versus "violent" protest, and even people
who know it's dumb can't break free
Deeply weird seeing people try to paint the protests in South Korea as family friendly parties when the one that stopped the original coup featured girls doing karate moves on riot cops and guys in the legislature spraying special forces units with fire extinguishers

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

It's like each day they're trying to one-up the level of incompetence from the previous.

I work in education on a product that has AI teaching capabilities and will have more advanced ones soon. Here’s the thing - none of the edu AI has impact without teachers.

These guys know nothing and would sooner raise a generation of socially devoid kids than appreciate the hard work of others.

The Coca Cola AI Holiday ad might be the best argument against using AI in ads put forth yet.

With the recent influx of troll accounts, blocking really has become a standout feature. Sure, there is that temptation to try to engage the idiocy, but ultimately starving it of attention and letting them experience a version of this platform with increasingly limited engagement is great.

Photos of Kenji (and Aldo) over the years. Since everyone followed for the dogs, I’ll be posting more photos every so often. (There are a lot, especially since Aldo had a mildly popular Instagram account back in the day)

These are our two huskies, Aldo and Kenji. Aldo is 14 and Kenji (redder one) is 4. @darthbluesky.bsky.social

Can we get real time Portuguese <-> English translations in the next update? I feel like I’m missing some banger content today because of the language barrier.

Casting the GOP as weird and Trump specifically as a whiner (an attribute that trickles down in the party) is a super strong messaging tactic. Combining it with the Dems reclaiming the American identity, patriotism, and bringing back a sense of joy to those things is the way to win. Happy to see it.
The line about trump's obsession with crowd sizes is getting all the attention, but I think Obama's more pointed barb was when he derided Trump's constant whining about his own problems. That's got legs. The next time Trump rambles on about what a victim he is, that gibe will echo over his rally.
