Families are being caught by thousands of pounds in hidden childcare charges, simply because of where and when their child was born.

We're working to deliver free childcare to all children from the day they turn three years old.
Scots parents would receive free childcare under end to 'hidden' penalty
EXCLUSIVE: The Scottish Greens say they want to close a loophole that denies three year olds free childcare hours.

December work highlights here - i'm back at the office on Monday. I pictured the East Kilbride CAB below because I went along to their 60th anniversary and their banner is a good reminder of all their great services for the community.

I took a cycle to the shops on Hogmany and noticed that the path along the Expressway has been done up. I wrote to Amey and the council about the flooding on it after constituents raised concerns with me. Still a couple of bumpy bits but improved for walking and wheeling - I'll find out more asap.

Many of you, like me, got a letter from Reform in the post yesterday. You need to watch this and see the kind of people who are asking for your vote. Your vote is a serious responsibility and has serious consequences. Please consider it very carefully. There is an alternative, www.greens.scot/join

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas and New Year. That's me finishing up for the holidays now for a wee break and hoping to catch up on some winter inspiration from Get Outdoors Lanarkshire on FB.

However, I know it's not always an easy time, so here are some emergency numbers which can help.

In September peak rail fares were scrapped for good.

The evidence is clear. If we make public transport affordable and accessible more people will use it.

It's time to go further. Free bus travel for everyone under 30!

🚶Calderwood and St Leonards residents: Do you walk to work, school, leisure or for pleasure? What kind of barriers do you face in getting about? What would make walking in our community a better experience?

Barriers could be rest spots, maintenance, safety concerns, missing links and more.
