I completed my 365 days of 10K+ steps a day last month. But now I can’t stop. I actually found I enjoyed all the little walks I built into my day to make sure I hit 10K. Not sure I’ll be able to keep this up for another 365 day streak but I’m not mad about trying.

Being on social is a little awkward right now. On one hand, I'm interested in finding the nearest anti-nazi rally this wknd and which senators I need to add to my call list, where to donate to help best help victims of widespread natural disasters, where I can still access reproductive healthcare...

I never followed Vance or Trump or Zuck and yet all three nearly simultaneously showed up in my feed as pages I was following.
If you are still on Facebook, and do not want to follow Trump or Vance you have to manually unfollow them. MZ made us all follow them and you might not even know you are following them. I just had to unfollow.

want to be excruciatingly clear about this: TikTok didn't have to go dark last night and it didn't have to turn back on this morning.

both of those were voluntary moves that the law does not directly touch.

So Trump already has Meta and X in his back pocket. Looking more and more like TikTok is a fast follow. The reliable media outlets are falling fast. The castle walls of the Fourth Estate are crumbling.

This is so good. Love this guy.
Pete Buttigieg gave his farewell address — his final speech as Transportation Secretary — earlier today.

It's definitely worth a watch.

For some it's not as easy or simple as just deleting their profiles. But you can limit their ability to derive value from your account at least.
Fed up with Meta? Avoiding Instagram or Facebook isn’t enough to stop Meta from harvesting and profiting from your private information. Here’s how to limit Meta’s ability to monetize your personal data.
Mad at Meta? Don't Let Them Collect and Monetize Your Personal Data
If you’re fed up with Meta right now, you’re not alone. Meta tracks you across millions of websites and apps and its business model relies on your data. If you want to limit Meta’s ability to collect ...

The web has changed. How we define content needs to evolve similarly. In that light... how is a blog different from an article? In a very tactical manner, they don't seem to be any longer or am I wrong?

Working on a project last week I finally realized that generative AI isn't INTELLIGENT. It's knowledgeable. To get a good result, you need to coax it. Persuade it. Cajole it, even. www.ianlurie.com/digital-mark...
Huge h/t to @wilreynolds.bsky.social for all his teaching. It's kept me inspired.

I’ve recently started looking into campers, RVs, and vans to make camping more comfortable. I hate the tent thing the older I get. But whoa buddy these things are $$$. No comfort in the outdoors for you unless you’re prepared for a second on that mortgage.

I get equally as excited when a test fails. Maybe more so even. A success just validates an assumption. A fail let’s you learn something completely new and challenge your ways of thinking. It’s way more fun!
