I can't recall whether it was on his podcast or just in some private conversations, but recently @kierdoyle.bsky.social made the point that pound-for-pound we are the worst at spending money in the top 5 European leagues.
We’ve spent over a Billion. If we don’t make the CL even though 30% of the PL are playing there next year, it’s a terrible indictment of the Club management. Imagine having to pay UEFA fines for financial misdemeanours just to play in the Europa or even worse Conference…

The result yesterday was obviously huge but the manner of it raises a lot of questions about the future for me. It goes against Maresca's stated desires and the rest of the season's trend to slow down the team.

Has he just hit survival mode? A bit like when he ditched his preseason tactics.

A reminder that 3 years ago Chelsea went toe to toe with Real Madrid in the UCL quarters while Arsenal had no European football. 3 years on Arsenal just beaten Madrid 5-1 on aggregate in UCL quarters & Chelsea are losing to Legia Warsaw in the Conference League. Cheers Clearlake…

Pochettino represented an off ramp for the worst of this project. He wasn't perfect but he was taking us in a better direction than we're now on. They just couldn't bend tho and now they must break for us to move forward.

Bring on George for 15 minutes because Sancho offers absolutely nothing.
