International breaks can turn people off but there's little in football like the final week of World Cup qualification.

And there's never been a night like 17 November 1993. Piece from 2020 where I spoke to many involved

Feuds, tragedy and glory: Reliving one of football’s wildest nights
For England, Ireland, Wales and many more it was a defining night at a time when international football meant everything. Those who were there tell Miguel Delaney about their experience of the moments...

Liverpool were really poor today.

Why isn't there any real scrutiny as to why you have a £120m striker on the bench and you don't bring him on?

Liverpool spent nearly £300m this summer building an attack to ease their reliance on Mohamed Salah.

Today Salah took three of their seven shots and assisted three more. He had over 60% of their xG. And this was a rather poor performance by him.

The break comes at the right time for Arsenal - not because there’s any real cause for introspection, but because they need some players back.

What #AFC have produced across this period provides them with a great platform.

And the cavalry are coming.

Arsenal have two weeks to rest and regroup. The break comes at the perfect time
The draw at Sunderland showed that Mikel Arteta's squad is being stretched thin. The international window will suit the manager

Entirely fair to think Arteta got it wrong today in those last 10 minutes, but apart from Hincapié - I don’t know who else he could’ve brought on.

We’re a brilliant defensive team and he banked on (gambled on) us being able to see it through. His trusted soldiers were all on the pitch + knackered.

Had to ring in the subs. Hincapie, Norgaard, all there who could be useful. Felt he didn't want to change things when it was working decently but missed the fact that these players were almost playing two games in these last few days. A little lapse is all it takes! #Arsenal 🔴⚪

That's a game we should have won, a much better second half from us, and two excellent goals to go ahead.

Arsenal's defence has been a real strength this season, but we were found wanting on both the Sunderland goals.

They made it very tough, but having gone ahead, we should have held on.

You can't say anything about referees without being accused of saltiness, or sour grapes, but Craig Pawson was an embarrassment today.

Completely gave into the crowd (and Sunderland falling over) at every opportunity, with some bizarre decision making along the way. Shocking.

Arsenal got to get those players fit, and got to keep most of them fit.
It's rough for those who are fit, they are going to go and play twice again for their counties.
