If I’m not knitting (or crocheting), there is something wrong.
Sitting at a nature park with my crochet blanket. I can hear birdsong and there’s a breeze, so it so peaceful. My original plans for this blanket have changed, and I will post about it when I’m finished.

Beautiful!
Easter Sunday feels like a suitable day for a bit more progress on my felt rabbit embroidery

The bushes in front of our house are filled with tiny birds, and Walter likes to sit under my desk while I’m crocheting to chitter at them.

This is the spinning wheel my dear friend who recently succumbed to pancreatic cancer had her husband give me after she died. She knew I would appreciate it. I don’t spin, and apparently this would be a tough one for a beginner because it’s a walking wheel.

Some students don’t know their height. Some don’t even know their major. More than one girl wanted the gown to be form-fitting (a big no-no with the university).

It’s commencement season at work. The bookstore is where you pick up your cap and gown. This semester, check in/pick up is right next to my desk. Because of that, I get pulled into every situation, good or bad. Graduation can’t come soon enough.

One house was on a lake and was seemingly the last holdout to the “McMansion with lake views”. Everything around them was too big and gaudy. This was a family home, well loved and filled with collected treasures. Kinda sad.

We went to two estate sales yesterday. It was the second day so everything was 50% off. I got a huge stainless steel pot, like the giant soup/chili making size, for $3. Also a bag of vintage buttons for $5. I’m becoming addicted to these sales.

My immediate superior is on medical leave for a month. I find out from HER superior that she fears I’m “not being shown the keys” because of my sup’s fear of “losing the keys”. I’m very perturbed at this.

I went to a fiber festival yesterday, and now my mind is full of ideas and yarny creativity. I’m going to write it all down in a journal. I’ve always wanted a peg loom… that baby is going to get some use!

Just finished the first of many butterflies for a friend. She does a yearly yarn bomb, and this years theme is “Bugs and Butterflies”.

This is Walter. This is the cat I adopted from my friend Diane. When kittens are itty bitty, it’s hard to tell the sex, so Diane thought the two surviving kittens were boys. I named him Walter. A chance peeing on the vet during an exam made the vet realize he was in fact, she. We kept the name. :)

When I first moved to the Charlotte area, there was a yarn shop in my town. I’d go there often because there was always something new. I also became friendly with one of the shop workers named Diane. We’d talk about knitting, moving to a new town, yarn bombs I was involved with, and more.

The baby blanket I’m knitting feels like my never-ending project. Though I’m knitting happy thoughts and good wishes into every stitch for the baby, I can’t wait to be finished with it. It’s stockinette, with a garter band border, and it’s putting me to sleep. #feelingguilty

Taking a break sipping tea and knitting in a coffee shop. My son texts me and says he just finished cleaning the kitchen, and is now heading to the store to buy ingredients for cookies he’s going to bake. I’m spoiled. :)

I swear, I could eat Indian food every day. Today it was cashew curry from our favorite local Indian joint, Biryani Pot. Soooo good!

I tend to support locally owned coffee shops, but the husband wanted to try out the the Caribou Coffee that just opened down the road. It’s okay. They have lots of seating where I can work on my baby blanket.

There’s a quiet, rarely used restroom at work. Everything in there works by motion sensing, even the flushing part. I went there the other day. There was no on in the hallway. As I opened the door, I noticed the motion controlled lights were already on, and the towel dispenser suddenly…
