Russia and China, have ramped up recruitment efforts targeting US federal employees—particularly those recently fired or at risk of termination. These efforts are unfolding aggressively on LinkedIn, where adversaries are reaching out under the guise of job opportunities, networking, and consulting.

I bet a lot of people have had an experience like this with a bad boss - there’s an email in your inbox on Saturday night saying, “Prove to me your worthiness by Monday or else.”

I’m on the side of the workers, not the billionaire asshole bosses.

The FDIC protects your hard earn money in the bank and helps prevent another financial crash.

Trump and Musk’s move to fire these workers is dangerous.

I led Senate Democrats in pushing back, and now independent investigators are on the case.

Instead of cutting costs for working families, Donald Trump is slashing the federal investments that fund their lifesaving care, fuel their local economy, and lower their health care costs.

It’s cruel, short-sighted, and will cost jobs and devastate millions of families.
NIH cuts billions of dollars in biomedical funding, effective immediately
Researchers say it would hurt facilities that work on medical issues such as cancer research and heart disease. Elon Musk contends the old policy was ‘a ripoff.’

The latest index of economic uncertainty is out! Jan 2025 saw the highest level of uncertainty in decades. As expected.

From policy to politics to trade, uncertainty is high across the board. Potentially shrinks #cdnecon and lowers business investment.

Through comments, I learned about other big myths Americans believe about foreign aid:
1/ it's risen past 1% in recent years, esp. due to Ukraine - false, max is about 0.5% in 2022 $80B
2/ it's used mostly *not* for humanitarian aid - nope
3/ It's mainly about military objectives - nope

Yes. While there are absolutely things Democrats can and must do to slow, obstruct, etc, GOP hold both House and Senate majorities, severely limiting our options.

Johnson and Thune are handing over the own keys and relinquishing their own power. Even for the cynics this should be a shock.
We all like to yell at the Democrats, but it’s really Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune who are letting Elon Musk and his faceless goon squad make a mockery of their power as leaders of a coequal branch without uttering a peep or lifting a finger.
