What's sad is that you can show this to ppl and they'll still somehow believe that AI is capable of understanding input and can respond accurately. They truly don't get that AI has no thought and responses are based on probability
An absolute horrific nightmare of two AI bots caught in a loop with each other is the perfect example of the total nothingness of AI “brains”.

Good thread. Something that baffles me is that so many current critics don't seem to have learned that you can make comparisons/give context between works without making baseless claims. Which is baffling to me bc, like, did they not teach you that in uni?
I am thinking of this because recently I've seen several people say, casually, as though it is obviously true, that the Imperial Radch books were strongly influenced by Banks and even contain nods to his work.
