Same article here theconversation.com/rising-deser... explains the impact of deforestation, but fails to mention that the top single cause of deforestation is livestock: grazing & feed crops. Also human population has more than doubled in the past 50 years - thus so has farming!

💚Kitchen tip💚
If you include kids in the cooking process they will be more likely to eat the food! This also works when preparing their lunchboxes!
Plus you get to spend more time with your kids and set them up to be foodies for life 🥰

Did you know? ✨
If you steep your veggie peels in water overnight, then by the morning you'll have created a wonderful all-natural plant fertiliser full of amazing nutrients for your house plants! Your plants will love you for this 💚

🌿 Love this! 🌿
Agroecological dishes celebrate food grown through sustainable farming that works WITH nature, not against it. Think farm-to-table meals using local ingredients from food forests, regenerative agriculture farms, and more.

Fungi are more than just fun guys, they are incredibly important for our planet and some of them are great sources of protein and other good things! Let's make an effort to preserve them.

A recent study by EUFIC has shown that Europeans are willing to pay 42.8 cents more for food with an environmental label. Is that a realistic expectation?

The high content of flavanols in cocoa is able to counteract the sugar content in chocolate, but the ratio is usually way off in milk chocolate so you don't get the same results!
”It was only dark chocolate that was associated with a lower risk of developing the disease, not milk chocolate.”

”For every ounce of #darkchocolate that a person consumed per week, their risk of developing #diabetes fell by three percent.”

New study!

Milk chocolate or dark? The answer could affect your risk of diabetes.
A large new study compared the health outcomes linked to consuming dark chocolate vs. milk chocolate.

I'm in love with the idea that due to quinoa being so nutritious and sacred to the Incas, their emperor would personally plant the first seeds of each season using a golden ceremonial spade... like imagine Joe Biden planting corn with a golden spade every year

There are many ways to reduce beef intake, and many will argue that it should be removed completely - Even if you only cut down by 1 meal every week it still makes a difference. 1 step at a time #plantforward
Most folks don’t realize this, but a single pound of beef is responsible for about 100 pounds of greenhouse gas pollution.

That’s 50x worse than coal, on pound for pound basis.
"Beef is probably the most polluting substance you and I will ever have flowing through our homes." - Jonathan Foley

It is always important to be critical of big companies, especially when it comes to climate change. Unfortunately this can also lead to misinformation and therefore controversy. Thank you to the journalists who work to inform the people.
Some UK social media users have been pouring milk down their sinks in protest at the trial of a feed additive called Bovaer.

Here's what we know about it and why it sparked controversy. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... @bbcmarcosilva.bsky.social @nickeardleybbc.bsky.social and Matt Murphy
Why has new additive Bovaer prompted people to throw Arla milk away?
The new additive aims to cut down on methane emissions from cows, but some have raised safety concerns.

Thank you @climateadam.bsky.social for sharing this! It can be daunting as it takes a lot of effort from all over the world, but small steps in the right direction are better than no steps at all.
one of the biggest lies that is told about climate change is that:

it's too late.
it's out of our hands.
our fate is sealed.

but we know how to stop the heating up.
