is this him building a replica of his dad's? But still, why not just use the already established Junior Clown Car design that he was MELDED to for like a decade? It's super puzzling. I doubt it'll even be explained and I'll be left here stewing over it lol...

Something that is puzzling me is that in the movie, he's shown with Bowser's Clown Car.
Yet the adult design is smaller in the movie, almost as if they shrunk it for him? Did they just not make the correct one, or is part of the plot going to involve him using his Dad's car? (comparisons below)

The traditional item for the Metal form from SM64/DS that isn't a cap is a Metal Mushroom. First was a Metallic Mushroom "series" emblem for Metal Mario in Smash 64, then the MK: Arcade GP trilogy and Mario Party 6+7 as an orb. Consistent next to the "general game" Gold Mushroom's debut in MK 64!

Huh neat, similar to the Bubble form from SMW ROM hacks there is a technical power-up that also predates Nintendo's idea by a little over a year! The ROM hack of SM64 called "Mystery of the Capsmith" featuring new cap power-ups that also has a Parachuting Cap that predates the Parachute Cap Badge!
