I think I overestimated myself with the River Rocks plan today. I started the day as a guest on a VAD podcast. I was cooked after we wrapped. Then I went to see Mum as she’s declined further.
We ended the day making decisions about her advancing condition, and now she’s moving into comfort care.

Went to the city to watch a free gig. Ended up at Clocks around a big table yapping with friends: some old, some new, some borrowed, some from BlueSky.

Grateful that Mum’s care home supports her right to use VAD in her home. She can no longer walk and needs a hoist, so moving her elsewhere would be cruel.
Paramedics union president Brett Simpson did not mince words when asked about a NSW bill that would force people out of their aged care homes to seek VAD.
"Terminally ill patients are some of the most vulnerable. The thought of having to load them into ambulances and move them around is shameful."
