As news coverage ebbs but reports from the streets indicate Operation Metro Surge is still surging, I’m surprised there’s not some kind of official report/press conference every day, like we used to get during Covid. Just the best update they have on what happened today? I think I am being naive.

There is a nat'l bill ready to codify protecting sensitive spaces-call your reps to get it done: Senate bill S.455-Protecting Sensitive Locations Act along with H.R.1061. HOSPITALS, LIBRARIES AND POLLING PLACES are in it! If the congress won't do it, let's go local.

chatted with a friend yesterday whose 24 year old son (a super-smart, kind kid) went to work for FEMA about 18 months ago. She said he loves his job and the work, and says it is fairly easy to avoid the politics.

I think about this a lot. I mean, think about the shear number of amazing people who would love to contribute to our country, but can't because they are held down. We have to do better.
