There have been a lot of cases where world leaders hated each other. Thatcher and Mitterrand. Obama and Netanyahu. Berlusconi and Chirac. All hated each other. But they all swallowed it to work together. Trump's inability to swallow his personal disdain of Zelensky underlines how unqualified he is.

Sure thing. But I would really like to ask Sam Seder one day how promoting Holodomor deniers helps Americans get a public healthcare system.
I agree, but we still need massive changes. Many people can't even pay their rent any longer and the politicians have abandoned them.

I honestly really hate that narrative. Why is it that everything that is authoritarian has to always be branded as rightwing? Even when came out of communist regimes. Why is it so hard for some people to accept that leftist authoritarians are just as real as the rightwing ones?

This is the most yougoslave way to get the bomb imaginable.
The Yugoslavs were also one of the few countries that didn't use a French reactor in their secret nuclear weapons program. Instead, they somehow managed to steal enough nuclear material for several dozen warheads, from a Norwegian research facility.

Well we call it keeping a competitive edge....
Reading through the history of clandestine nuclear weapon's programs over the last few weeks, there is one commonality you find in almost every single one. Countries that secretly made the bomb almost always used French nuclear reactors. Because the French don't do inspections at their reactors.

Not a fan of the guy in domestic politics but he goes hard as fuck there
I remember watching the speech Dominique de Villepin gave at the U.N in opposition to the war in Iraq. "Et c’est un vieux pays". One of the best and most important speeches in recent European political history. Worth a listen over whatever nonsense Vance has to say. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNxU...

We have a crisis of accountability in Western democratic politics. Look how the British media almost never confronts Farage over the consequences of Brexit, how Trump got away with January 6th, how Germany bogged down legally confronting the AfD. That's why I'm so happy about what happend to Le Pen.
How the hell is that even possible? Do they just gaslight everyone?

The EU is handing out billions of euros to NGOs each year without properly monitoring how the money is spent — or whether it's even going to genuine organizations, a damning European Court of Auditors report found.
Brussels must overhaul ‘opaque’ funding of NGOs, say auditors
The damning report will give ammunition to conservative lawmakers who want to prevent NGOs from using EU money to lobby.

It's strange that we are still "weighing the risks of further antagonizing Musk and Trump."

Why? You think that oaf would ever give us the same consideration? Turn Europe into a permanent anti-MAGA harassment machine. We should strive to live rent-free inside his head for the next 4 years.

My dude, disagree! I think the Suez crisis was America at its best. Telling Britain and France that the age of European Empires is over, so to "get the fuck out of Egypt or we will team up with the Soviets to kick you out" ...that was one of the best things America did in the last 100 years.
I disagree. Suez should have been the lesson that they cannot be trusted and Vietnam should have forced that home.
