When startups talk about "disrupting" things, this is what they mean.
This really struck me. If Uber were legally acknowledged as an employer, then it would be the biggest employer in the world, with over 9,000,000 employees globally. Think about how many taxes, wages, and protections are being lost b/c of their intransigence.

I'm tough on crime all of a sudden
No it’s important to listen to this. Because then you understand that many of them will do ANYTHING to keep power. Remember Musk got involved in the 2024 election after saying to Tucker “if she wins” I am definitely going to prison.

So we need to move knowing that nothing is off the table for them.
Steve Bannon: If we lose the midterms and we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison, myself included.

something i've started doing that i really recommend other educators do is to DOWNLOAD all of your key youtube video examples so that you have a local file on hand instead of relying on youtube to host it in perpetuity!

Genuinely delighted to download a PhD thesis from a university repository where the author has neglected to remove the words "BITCH THIS IS YOUR THESIS" from the filename.

Librarians, the toughest of all. “Staff members at the library called the U.S. Capitol Police as well as their general counsel, Meg Williams, who told the men they were not allowed access to the Copyright Office and asked them to leave,” which they did.

Feels concerning to me that the era of "do your own research" as policy is coinciding with the era of "all the highest quality research is paywalled and there's an absolute fountain of true and reliable sounding garbage floating around in fake journals available for free"

RIGHT? Fuck’s sake tell the government they have to submit their oversight requests in Workday.
If I thought this were code for "we're going to drag this process out in typical university fashion and never really move forward on this" I'd feel better about it

I don't believe they can't slow walk this the way they slow walk travel reimbursement

Are we great and efficient yet?
