The same people demanding you present a photo ID to vote are perfectly fine with letting you be arrested, handcuffed & thrown into a van by armed men wearing plain clothes, face masks & presenting no identification of any sort.

Newsom: "Speaker Johnson -- his eloquence was elevated when he called to 'tar and feather' the governor of California. Very religious man. I guess that's the spirit. The word of the Lord."

“Military gear has been used for domestic law enforcement for a long time, but flying military gear over LA at a time when the president has sent military units against the wishes of the governor is noteworthy," says Matthew Feeney, longtime tech researcher and advocacy manager at Big Brother Watch.
The High-Flying Escalation of CBP's Predator Drone Flights Over LA

Fellow parents of college-aged students, you might want to be aware of the National Science Foundation budget proposal dated May 30th that reduces REU funding from $47 billion per year to $0. (page 27 if you go look it up - I can't get the link to the document to transfer here)

Big numbers are hard, so try this on for size:
Elon says he'll cut $2,000 from the US budget of $6,800 - sounds like big savings for the United States!
After in office, he drops that to $1,000
April 10 - brags about $150 in savings
Spent to date by DOGE: $135
Actual savings: $15
Just dropped zeroes

How telling is it that all of my (Republican) senators and representatives REQUIRE a "title" that implies binary gender options only when communicating with them via email. 😒😒😒

The 19 richest U.S. households saw a $1 trillion wealth increase in 2024, a rise that exceeds the size of Switzerland’s economy.

These 19 households now control $2.6 trillion in wealth — almost as much wealth as the bottom 50% of American households.

If this isn't an oligarchy, what is?

In some places, demonstrations are hundreds of people of like minds gathered together to show unity....
And in some places it's groups of twenty to thirty staged along intersections counting the hundreds of thumbs 👍🏼, cheers, and honking from passing cars.

We will not be silenced.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

I just finished reading 1984 and the similarity between rewriting in newspeak and the purging of "DEI" terms like female, trauma, status, political, pollution... from federal documents is beyond terrifying.

902/4,500 miles... A bit slower for this most recent hundred thanks to a nasty run in with a cranky sciatic nerve. I'm walking a little better now and on the mend, but there were some days there that I was knocked out by a half mile.
