Some of the shortest pieces I've ever read hit the hardest. Take for instance, "The Non-Denominational Government Exorcist Makes His Rounds" by H. A. Eugene. Or as I like to call it, the literary version of Bruce Lee's One Inch Punch. Check it out on 6/29!

sometimes you’re reading a novel and a set of lines perfectly encapsulates something you have felt and never articulated. my favorite thing about reading.

once had a friend tell me she took a book to bar and was disappointed when no man used it as an opportunity to make conversation and I had to break it to her that she is insufficiently online and that this is a trope people are warned to avoid 😂
If I'm reading in a public place and you're not my dear friend or bartender, please do not talk to me

turns out I just needed something new to procrastinate on to become very efficient in this totally disparate area of my life 🙌

I promise to stop talking about this today (there are obviously far bigger things happening) but I did want to call out that these books are all from small/university presses. In a lit world where it’s really hard to break a collection out, I’m grateful for the attention to small-press books!

Enjoyed the latest Together, Alone by @gbullard.bsky.social! I don’t often watch movies (on planes or off), so when I watch one on a flight it tends to be one I’ve wanted to see. My latest: Ex Machina, Bohemiam Rhapsody, Cidade de Deus, & A Star is Born.

Been doing my best to stay off social media but went to review polling data from the only source I trust and finally found this: www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202... This is a travesty. FiveThirtyEight was the best political news source and nothing in the current landscape can replace it.
Opinion | FiveThirtyEight is gone. Its legacy will endure.
Nate Silver’s website suffered because of Trump and changes in political news coverage.
