Today Open Source Collective and ecosyste.ms are launching Funds supporting 291 Open Source Ecosystems. Unsurprisingly, we call them Ecosystem Funds.

The wonderful idea of calling stochastic autocomplete systems “artificial intelligence”.
1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but
2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but
3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So
4. Now the LLM code points to malware.

Every few years, we sign up for yet another platform just to keep in touch with our friends. Private platforms have locked users in for too long, causing a lack of innovation & competition in social media.

I cannot over-emphasize the colossal loser energy of taking a platform where once the biggest stars in the history of popular culture voluntarily posted original content every day because they enjoyed it into a pyramid scheme where the worst dipshits on earth pay to be fake friends with each other.
