My cousin who just had a baby was voicing concern about this and vaccines and my retired nurse aunt bluntly said, “if your baby doesn’t get the shot, they are going to die of something totally preventable so stop reading this nonsense online.”

Majority of Catholics find “traditional Catholics” to be quite annoying and almost all of them go through all this pageantry but don’t volunteer or do good works. Catholicism requires both and good works. It’s not Protestantism where faith alone saves you.

For traditional Catholics, Charlotte Communion dispute is a battle line
A seemingly esoteric dispute over the proper way to take Communion signals the rising power of more traditional voices within the Catholic Church.

I finished "Blank Space" by W. David Marx the other night and I'm having a hard time understanding how this book ended up on one of those best books of 2025 lists. It tries to be smart and pretentious in its views of pop culture but is musings are quite basic and don't touch...

Lately I’ve been thinking about the celebrity to rightwinger pipeline. Trying to understand it. Seems like a quick way for washed up or serious flawed celebrities to “reinvent” themselves with a new base.

Using as an excuse for layoffs is a smokescreen. It’s likely a mix of cooling consumer spending and following the latest Wall Street fade of reducing headcount to make the margins look better.

It’s funny. Netflix has a category of movies based on books and its James Bond films. I guess it’s because they got the rights to stream the franchise.

If works stops on the Gateway Tunnel then the contractors have to be paid to demobilize and when work restarts they have to get paid to remobilize. Unnecessary millions would be lost for no good reason, but that’s what the administration wants to do.

Last night, I watched "Vigilante" from 1982. It's a "Death Wish" knockoff. Very basic plot, gritty, low budget, campy, and surprisingly enjoyable.

By the end of the tour, she’ll be selling her own brand of supplements.

I finished “The Chile Project” by Sebastian Edwards. I found it a good read but have plenty of issues with it. The author stated that he wanted to be as fair as possible and in doing that he isn’t as critical as he should’ve been.

I go back and forth on the cult of Abel Ferrara. At one point, he was the guy for gritty NYC crime films. The pinnacle was of that time was “Bad Lieutenant” and “King of New York.” I honestly think his best film is “The Addiction” from 1995. Now…
