Brisk conditions for our Green councillor street surgery earlier today in Shipley! And great to be out with Hawarun Hussain once again! Chatted with residents and picked up some handy casework that we can help with!

Absolutely fantastic to be in Bradford with over 400 members of the public, fellow Greens and people who are Green Curious!
People who are ready to stand up to: the march of the far right, for our communities, for ordinary people!
Fantastic atmosphere, time for change!

Excellent catch-up with our local highways team this morning at Shipley Town Hall - along with councillors Martin Love and Anna Watson! Made good progress on behalf of residents!

Had more fun this morning with fellow Green councillors Anna Watson and Martin Love helping with the school street by Shipley CE Primary! Quiet space for families walking to the school and the residents who live nearby!

Super community speed watch this morning on Dock Lane (by Amber Wharf) and Dockfield Road, with Living Streets colleague Jack Ford! A visible reminder to passing motorists to drive safely around our community! We are doing these across Shipley wherever there are traffic hot spots!

Great to see the new crossing on Otley Road fully operational at last! Hats off to my Green colleague Cllr Anna Watson for pushing for this big improvement to Shipley’s walking network. Not quite Abbey Road 1969, but another win for our residents!

Super Green councillor catch-up this week with some of our new party members - at Shipley’s wonderful Dandelion cafe!

Very happy to be helping at the school street by Shipley CE this morning - have just had a word with a taxi driver who decided to cut through!

Another super Green councillor street surgery, this weekend in Saltaire with Cllr Anna Watson. Great to see everyone for a chat about local concerns ahead of the rain showers!

This is great news. Bradford Council has significantly cut pesticide use in Shipley’s parks and green spaces in response to pressure from the Green councillors, but national legislation is required as well!
More councils are taking action to curb pesticide use on parks, playgrounds, pavements, and housing estates, but legislation is still needed!

My Bill (2nd reading soon) would introduce a national phase-out of pesticide use in public spaces by local authorities.

Half of UK councils still use pesticides in public places, research finds
Pesticide-free movement has grown, but many local authorities still spray weedkiller linked to wildlife declines and cancer

🚨 Labour are once again planning to cut school bus services in #Bradford.

🗣 Cllr @kevinwarnes.bsky.social said, “It is critical that we maintain and expand our bus travel networks. Cuts are not an option. The withdrawal of any of these services is simply not acceptable.”
