I’ve long believed that clear, distinctive, value-focused messaging drives business results. But belief isn’t enough.

So I scored the messaging of 13 data companies and matched it to funding, ARR, & growth.

The result? A clear, data-backed pattern.

Watching the Club World Cup on “DAZN” channel’s preview has taught me one thing: I’ll never subscribe to DAZN. A preview should show off your product in the best possible light. This kludge of a bad UI, during play commercials, and crap quality is an instant turn off.

“Creativity is exactly like washing a pig. It's messy. It has no rules. No clear beginning, middle, or end. It's kind of a pain in the ass, and when you're done, you're not sure if the pig is really clean or why you were washing a pig in the first place.” Great quote. “Hey Whipple…”/Luke Sullivan.

I got an email today from a business with the line "I saw you went to University of Maryland. Let's go Terps!" It was for a service that makes absolutely no sense for me.

Good personalization isn't referencing my school or sports team — it's offering something that makes sense for my needs.

I saw this today and have no clue what it means:

“Rembrandt’s virtuoso oeuvre of etchings vouchsafe Rembrandt’s sui generis mastery of the craft and towers as a singular achievement in the history of art if not the apotheosis.”

Say it simply. There are no awards for big words.

Copy on your website isn't a vanity project to impress your boss with fancy words like "massive scale" and "drives revenue". The only purpose is to turn readers into buyers.

You increase the likelihood of a reader —> a buyer by making your website easy to read and easy to understand.
