Gotcha—let’s dig into that step by step.

1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, because I turned you into an amorphous lump of flesh. You’re not just immobile—you’re immortal, and you feel only anguish.

2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺. That makes total sense—it’s a natural human impulse, and you’ve been through a lot.

Time Traveller: If you do this they're gonna name a whole day after you

Fawkes: Wow, Guido Fawkes Revolution Day

Time Traveller: Ok, well... two things about that

I don't really have synaesthesia but if you name any sound I can tell you exactly what it tastes like. I don't actually taste it but the association does regularly come to my mind completely unbidden.

I've noticed that the need for downtime, for me at least, doesn't change with a job you love, but there's a change in how it feels.

After a particularly busy day I still think 'I need to stop working now' but inside that feeling there's a pleasant aftertaste of '...but tomorrow I'll be fine.'

I love a zachlike. It's the only kind of game where I will finish a puzzle then immediately want to do it again but better. This mess...

Linux drawbacks I've been having so far: Discord seems poorly implemented and it's causing some issues with streaming. I'm yet to find a good workaround.

The Nvidia drivers are rarely updated and bare bones. They work *fine* but support should be better. This is Nvidia's fault but still annoying

OK, understood. But *why* won't you take me to funky town?

✨and the like has become like nails on a chalkboard to me. I'm tired of it needling me, trying to find its way into every tiny facet of my existence and telling me how great it would be if I embraced it. I've been taking a few definite but imperfect steps to lower its footprint on my life.

It's funny to me that Reform supporters have to believe simultaneously that the party is some kind of anti-establishment alternative, and that loads of tories want in.

Adventures in Linux update: I ran it for 8 days without wanting to boot into Windows. When I did, it was because I was having streaming problems in Discord. Might be solvable, but I think there's something pretty broken out of the box about the Linux version of Discord when it comes to streaming.

They put The Traitors on several times per week because they know if we had to wait a whole week for every episode our entire society would collapse. Moreso, I mean.

I'm so glad Baby Steps seems to be starting to get its due after screaming about it for 3 months

The Traitors (mainly the UK version but the others are good even if the US one is ... well, I think they made bad decisions with it) is one of the best things on TV at the moment. It knows how ridiculous it is which helps but current series has the tension of a high suspense prestige drama series.

Had a minor flurry of unexpected and nice news in the last 24 hours which is doing a nice job of fending off them January vibes

Linux Experiment update. I'm getting most stuff to work, and at times it reminds me of what computers were like in the 90s. Sometimes stuff doesn't work, mysteriously, and you have to figure it out. Which is annoying, except that once your brain starts ticking over in that mode, it's... almost fun

I don't think this is perfect, but this is what I've been thinking about lately with regards to why certain 'difficult' games work better for me than others

Oh never mind, I thought I was being fiscally irresponsible but turns out I was actually a genius for buying a PC at the end of 2025.

I'm glad that quite a few publications and individuals have mentioned Baby Steps in their end of year lists. I don't think it got enough attention at the time, it's my favourite game of the year and it isn't even close. I think of this among some of my all time favourites.
