I don’t know if there’s a more perfect illustration of the utter fucking nonsense that creative pollution by AI will produce than this choice to illustrate the power of Paramount’s new “localization” and “customization” technology by face-swapping Brad Pitt into the lead role of GET OUT

Saw DIE MY LOVE at this year’s London Film Festival and it’s brilliantly punk filmmaking. Lynne Ramsay not just firing on all cylinders but blasting them into the ether with this disturbing but transcending adaptation.

Just a thought about cinema etiquette: if cinemas really want it enforced beforehand, communicating it through blocks of text like some crappy PowerPoint, text accompanied by some crappy smooth jazz or, at worst, a Google Pixel ad is NOT the genius idea you think it is…🤔

That DJ Mustard set was going so so well until he played Carnival…

Watched Elio today and, regardless of quality, Pixar films are always consistently creative and original in discussing the fundamentals of human psychology

Played the first hour of Death Stranding 2 and it’s probably the most next-gen game I’ve played in this console cycle

This is all fascinating. I had no idea Ryan Coogler negotiated a contract where he kept final cut, first-line profits, and the rights to SINNERS after 25 years. But the idea of studio execs FREAKING OUT about it ("What if EVERY in-demand creative wants rights over their own work?") is even better.
Hollywood Execs Fear Ryan Coogler’s Sinners Deal ‘Could End the Studio System’
Warner Bros.’ unusual agreement with the director has rival executives sweating, with some saying it sets a “dangerous” precedent.

Despite WARFARE being the equivalent to CALL OF DUTY: THE MOVIE, my viewing experience was enhanced by a rowdy audience member getting ejected from the screening for vaping as an intensely graphic surgery scene was taking place onscreen

Still can’t get over SINNERS from last night! Such an exciting blockbuster that uses the context of Jim Crow to carve a gonzo action-horror inspired by THE THING, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, and NEAR DARK. If I can get one SINNERS a year, my faith in cinema will continue to be sustained 🍿

The Harry Potter casting is nothing short of hilarious. The original films were the very best of British casting and this is the follow-up? Ed from Shaun of the Dead as Hagrid??? 😂

Outstanding game. Probably the 5th time I’ve played it all the way through but GTA V is still staggering in detail as a satirical examination of American capitalism, still holding up 12yrs on! Looking forward to seeing what they do with GTA VI later this year 🕹️

To say that he was my favorite filmmaker would be an understatement. It’s no exaggeration that for me personally, the fact that I got to be alive for 35 years on this planet while David Lynch walked the earth and made art is only akin to sharing oxygen with a literal prophet (1/15)

I don’t know what to say other than I’m absolutely devastated that this extraordinary, visionary, inspirational, magical and, above all, humane filmmaker has passed away. He’s one of my favourites, he will be sorely missed and he will be eternally remembered. RIP David Lynch ❤️

Babygirl (review) – Kidman and Dickinson whisk up a heady cocktail of eroticism and risk
Babygirl arrives in cinemas nationwide on Jan 10. ★★★★ None of us are a truly open book, even with those closest to us. We all choose what we wish to divulge and what we keep locked away from view. That is never more true than in our deepest sexual desires. From a young age, we are taught to feel shame about sexual interests that stray from the vanilla.
