Still can’t get over SINNERS from last night! Such an exciting blockbuster that uses the context of Jim Crow to carve a gonzo action-horror inspired by THE THING, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, and NEAR DARK. If I can get one SINNERS a year, my faith in cinema will continue to be sustained 🍿

Here’s my predictions for tonight (despite barely paying attention to the circuit), let’s see how well I do! 🎬 #Oscars

Outstanding game. Probably the 5th time I’ve played it all the way through but GTA V is still staggering in detail as a satirical examination of American capitalism, still holding up 12yrs on! Looking forward to seeing what they do with GTA VI later this year 🕹️

I don’t know what to say other than I’m absolutely devastated that this extraordinary, visionary, inspirational, magical and, above all, humane filmmaker has passed away. He’s one of my favourites, he will be sorely missed and he will be eternally remembered. RIP David Lynch ❤️

Finally a special mention to the 4K restoration of Shinji Sōmei’s MOVING (1993) that I saw at the Film at Lincoln Centre in New York. Arguably the best film that I saw in a cinema last year, truly inspiring and transcending stuff. I hope for a UK release soon 🤞

It’s the last day of 2024 so, as per tradition, these are my 20 favourite films from this year. Here’s to another year of movie going in 2025! 🎥🥂

Attended this afternoon’s screening and Q&A for WALLACE AND GROMIT: VENGEANCE MOST FOWL at the BFI. Fabulous post-discussion for an equally fabulous film. Cliche to say but it is a proper Xmas treat! 😁🎬
