Such an extremely important and relevant report in 2025. Nearly everyday I find myself supporting families to self-advocate for their loved ones, and they are highlighting concerns that their individual needs are not being addressed in a person-centred & holistic way.
A reminder of our 2022 report on Scotland’s crisis in mental ill health, alcohol & drug use.
Services don't meet needs of people with both mental ill health & problems with substance use. Strategies, standards & guidelines in place but not put in practice. bit.ly/3SLDPfX

Alcohol deaths have risen by 25% in 4 years to a 15 year high ⚠️

Alcohol deaths hit the poorest communities in Scotland hardest, with 2/3 deaths in non dependent drinkers

Yet the #GMBUnion wants ever more alcohol availability

Make it make sense 🤦‍♂️

John Swinney’s support for alcohol ban at Scottish football is 'basic snobbery'
The GMB is campaigning for drinking to be allowed at matches and says support of the ban is discriminating against working class people.
