There is significant association between exposure to alcohol ads & drinking behaviour, particularly among children. Social-media & video sharing platforms are ideal spaces for marketing, allowing alcohol companies to reach young people

The National Cancer Plan is welcome, but we must ensure long-term measures that we know will help prevent cancers resulting from consumption of products like tobacco, alcohol & unhealthy food, are introduced at pace.

Bit of a wake up call here: when your child or teenager sees zero alcohol brands plastered over the Six Nations (starting tonight!) they are actually seeing alcohol marketing. And this increases their chances of drinking earlier in life, and developing an alcohol problem.
New research with @stir.ac.uk: 11-17 year olds see alcohol branding almost every time they watch football or rugby.

👀They recognise alibi marketing and interpret no-low promotions as ads for full-strength alcohol.

📣We're calling for comprehensive restrictions on alcohol marketing in sport.
