7. This isn’t a time for Albo’s stubborn, bloody mindedness. The coalition & their surrogates will keep the pressure up. It’s The Voice all over again. Mind you most of the electorate aren’t watching the news or reading the papers and it’s unlikely to damage labor’s electoral prospects.

Some thoughts on the repeated calls for a Bondi Royal Commission as someone that has worked on both a royal commission & on the gun control reform response after Port Arthur.

I expect a weasel, soft condemnation from my government (& most European governments), eventually followed by a slightly stronger joint statement from commonwealth countries. The heavy lifting will be done by South American and African countries.

I stopped watching Secret City because a character referenced “The Estimates” when it’s only ever referred to as Estimates or Senate Estimates. It was such a glaring error I couldn’t take the world seriously anymore.

He’ll have stopped questioning, conversing & emoting with her as a child. Does he ever need comfort or experience childlike wonder? He knows every depravity & violence inflicted. Doubt he’s even a good facsimile of her son anymore. Mourn him, or become one with him (he’ll know everything about you).

Same. With Christmas travel I’m two episodes behind so I’m wary of spoilers.
I’ve weirdly not seen much discussion about grief, trauma & trauma adaptations, marginalised people, consent & apathy.
The lies a mum would have to tell herself about her child, I could write an essay on that alone.
