When are democrats going to seriously discuss the fracturing of the Obama coalition? Black voter preference has slightly decreased but turnout is lower vs 2012. Other nonwhite voter (D) preference has dropped 20pp. Democrats will NOT win nationally without engaged and involved voters of color.
We need more honest conversations like this about the democratic party and black folk in the south. And not just for 26 or 28 but when the new EC maps come out after 2030, where the so-called blue wall probably won’t be enough to get to 270 anymore.
"Electability" has become a weapon used against candidates who don't fit a certain mold. @colinallredtx.bsky.social and I are unpacking this issue and why Texas—and America—deserves better. Don't miss this important conversation.

I appreciated that my congressman @colinallredtx.bsky.social pushed to get that done for NE DFW veterans. For decades it was hard for my father, grandfather, and uncle to get down to the Dallas VA.

I don’t entirely disagree with Rosie Perez’ perspective. It’s partly why nonwhite turnout was down vs 2020. I think Kamala did as well as she could given the circumstances. But she only had 107 days to dig out the hole that Biden left and the way she was mischaracterized/underutilized for 3.5 years.

Pam Bondi has been a complete and total failure at her job. The Epstein survivors showed more courage just by being in that room than she did under oath. She refused to answer questions and chose complicity.

America deserves better.

I remember my dad saying I was gonna have bad credit before even being legally able to drive. 😂😂😂😂

I used “return to sender” to purposely get kicked out of Coumbia House and BMG with the discounted CDs without fulfilling the obligation.
We still owe Columbia House for the 15 albums we got for $0.01 in 1980.

Long live the 80s. #Truth 😎

Frankly I don’t see the near term concern yet. And there’s a difference between ability and business adoption. Even if AI is capable to replace jobs (outside of tech), it will take many more years for business models to change (eg, tech has failed to replace Excel for 2 decades because of both).
Here is the blog post from Matt Schumer.
It’s a long read but well worth the time to read it.
The latest model of ChatGPT was coded by the prior model.

A personal note for non-tech friends and family on what AI is starting to change.

U.K. might lose a prime minister because a guy who worked for him knew another guy who hung out with Epstein. Meanwhile the U.S. opposition party is telling our President, who was Epstein's best friend, that his secret police should get better training so their public street murders look less messy.

Talarico: 39%

Wealthy people are weird af. When they’re not destroying democracy or running a global pedophile ring they’re actually using terms like “ferments” with a straight face.

Senior accountants and corporate finance are some of the least worried folk about being replaced by AI in the near term. Tech has struggled to replace Excel for 2 decades. DOGE couldn’t even keep an accurate ledger.

Also, we save and invest and many will be able to retire early if we so choose.

Black turnout disproportionately drops relative to our white brothers and sisters in the midterms.

We gotta turnout this year in response to the bigots in BOTH political parties.

I want to take it one step further and say that overt racism(slurs/ape pictures) get so much outrage because it allows the "good" people to scold the "bad racists" without having to address any of the ways they perpetuate racism in their daily lives 😴

“If she wins, we lose.”

James Talarico, who is “we”?

In 2026, a hundred years into Black history commemoration, we are not accepting dog whistles dressed as politics. Black women and Black families are not anyone’s warning label. We show up. We vote. We win.
