Trump is still colluding with Russia. It’s always Russia.

The USsR deal 😩

I have accepted that I’m okay not being around most people…smh.

So-called moderate democrats are why we can’t have nice things and lose winnable elections. They do the most performative soul-sucking bullshit to make voters more apathetic.

Much of the recent layoffs have little to do with AI. It's mostly from over-hiring during the pandemic (e.g. Amazon) which has been an issue, now exacerbated due to margin squeeze from tariffs. Even the so-called AI impact is probably from some other form of previously established tech/automation.

The police account of Doug Martin’s death sounds like they “sprinkled some crack on him”.

I hate false equivalences.

Most republicans are pro apartheid christian nationalists that voted for the rapist, insurrectionist, felon on the epstein list.

He knows that he belongs with the other hateful white supremacist abuser criminals.

Personally, I feel like Ayesha is a habitual linestepper. Any one of her candid, goofball statements over the years could get a pass in isolation, but the accumulation of publicly oversharing seems problematic.
October 6, 2025 at 12:37 PM
Once again, for folks like Ezra Klein, democrats didn't lose in 2024 because they didn't win enough white voters. Like Biden in 2020, Kamala Harris won 43% of the white vote. Democrats lost last year because the Biden term turned off nonwhite voters.

We don't need a bigger tent.
October 1, 2025 at 2:15 AM
The idea that there’s a need for “pro-life” democrats when the party lost the House post Dobbs and lost the presidency after giving a platform to actual republicans illustrates that democrats still don’t understand why they lost.

Don’t need a bigger tent. Need to keep nonwhite voters in the tent.
September 21, 2025 at 6:27 PM
I was warning people in 2022 that there were signs that nonwhite turnout would be down in 2024 due to voter apathy.

Between republican cheating and democratic party fecklessness I wouldn’t be shocked if democrats underperform in 2026.

If the white unemployment rate went up 150 basis points in three months like the black unemployment rate, the Fed probably would have cut their target a full percentage point.

With that said, in the words of Joy Reid, why are y’all (MAGA) still so mad?

I don’t have sympathy for those that promote hate.

President Pedophile as an FBI informant for the democratic hoax orchestrated over a decade before he was a politician. 🥴
September 7, 2025 at 9:36 PM
I think many, especially younger, black folk took for granted how relatively good the employment situation was during the Biden years.
September 5, 2025 at 8:09 PM
Wow, the black unemployment rate for August went up another 30 basis points to 7.5%--up a full 1.5 percentage points higher since May.

There are nearly 350,000 more unemployed black folk than before the summer. So while the labor force grew ~250k since May, the number of employed declined ~100k.
September 5, 2025 at 12:51 PM
Where the fuck are you spineless CEOs? Your supply chains have been disrupted, taxes have been raised on goods, labor force reduced, threatened if prices are raised or if using corn syrup, and the government has taken stakes in US steel and Intel.
August 26, 2025 at 10:29 AM
If a democratic president did this we’d be inundated with all sorts of think pieces and political commentary about socialism from both sides of the aisle.
August 11, 2025 at 12:22 PM
Seems kind of lazy to not include context from the senior economy writer indicating some of the challenges at BLS are Trump’s fault.

Trump knows the markets are his only check—hence TACO.
August 4, 2025 at 10:53 PM
White unemployment is down (favorable) 10 basis points since May.
August 1, 2025 at 12:48 PM
July black unemployment rate jumps another 40 basis points to 7.2%. That's +120 (unfavorable) basis points since May.

My "last hired-first fired" recessionary radar is going off.

Markets were panicked in April with a EU 20% EU reciprocal tariff but cool with a 15% “trade deal”.

Also labor supply shocks in service sectors, especially in food and housing, from overly aggressive immigration policies will likely drive up prices.
