It’s Day ✌🏻!

It was a great first day at @ballotstrategy.bsky.social #RoadAhead25! I was thrilled to speak on a panel.

It’s been inspiring to be in community with state-based advocates, ballot measure experts, and movement leaders who are doing so much incredible work across the country.

Great story about the Ky Leg rewriting and rushing bills through the process late in the game before anyone outside the inner circle can read them and object.

With GOP super-majorities, listening to anyone's concerns no longer is considered necessary. ^JC
Trust the process? The Kentucky #kyga25 Republican supermajority sped more than 100 bills to passage ahead of the governor’s veto period. Some of the most contentious measures were heavily amended before the public could give their input, or even read them. From me and @sylviaruthg.lpm.org

There are hundreds of people right here in Kentucky taking action this weekend.

A town hall in Lexington, a Medicaid rally in Louisville, a Veterans rally in Owensboro, and the list goes on.

None of us are powerless. Ever. May we never forget it.

Fascism. Plain and simple.
Trump at the DOJ: "I believe that CNN and MSNDC, who literally write 97.6% bad about me, are political arms of the Democrat Party. And in my opinion, they are really corrupt and they are illegal. What they do is illegal."

Good. Everyone should be erupting.
CNN reports that in a private meeting, Senator Michael Bennet erupted, accusing Democratic leadership of having "No strategy, no plan, and no message on this spending bill" (direct quote)

WOWWW
I asked Schumer about this last night and his answer was basically that they’re wrong.
The American Federation of Government Employees, which represents 800,000+ federal and D.C. workers (i.e. people directly impacted by a government shutdown), is urging senators to vote no on the House GOP's CR.

In other words, AFGE is saying a government shutdown is less bad than this GOP bill.
March 14, 2025 at 7:31 PM
Every word.

If Senate Dems vote yes, they deserve to be primaried.
Bernie Sanders: "If you do nothing, you sit back and say, 'it's gonna be terrible.' And that's right. A shutdown will be terrible. But our job is to put the onus on the Republican president, the Republican House, the Republican Senate, the people who control the govt"

They just took another step forward in stripping healthcare away from 474k KYians in order to pay for tax cuts for Billionaires.

Someone you know will be impacted by this. Your neighbors. Children, the elderly, the disabled.

This will cause sweeping harm & people will die.
The U. S. House budget resolution passed last night enables huge cuts to Medicaid. While details are to come, one estimate puts the amount of cuts resulting in 475,000 KYians losing health care

Hardest hit would be EKY with the 9th worst coverage loss of all 435 House districts.
