So this Christmas I brined the turkey before cooking it. I regret to report that it made a HUGE difference and I will have to do this every time I cook one from now on.

Can't imagine why this was still in the sales, who wouldn't want it on their tree?!

We have a freshly minted 17 year old in the house so I am once again a white-knuckled passenger seat driver. Oh the joy.

Looking for fitness watch recommendations! I want one that can record my runs and swims, compatible with Strava and works with my Pixel phone. I don't do Apple #RunSky

That’s the kind of text that could get a normal person in trouble when being posted on Social Media. But when a Russian asset writes this in a far right newspaper it is absolutely fine.

Loved last night's trip to Kings Place for 9 Lessons and Carols for Curious People. Fantastic and interesting line up, we sang! About Amoebas, Oh yes I can! Entertained by comics and enlightened about Romans and Brains and Juries and Orchids. All hosted by one of my favourite humans @robinince.bs

A Merry Little Ex-mas very nearly pulled off the dream christmas movie - it very nearly had the clever woman dump the small-town sad-sack in a christmas jumper in order to go off to the big city for the job of her dreams - but sadly fumbled the ending. Disappointing.

This evening's 6k run means I now have a 52 week Strava streak. That is a year of putting in the work. I still have to be protective of my knees and I'm still pretty slow, but I'm really happy to be back out there, putting in the miles (10-15 a week!) for my stupid mental and physical health #RunSky

Just so we're clear, one incident of alleged anti-semitism by a musician = a major national scandal that should be roundly condemned.

Multiple incidents of alleged anti-semitism from the man leading the race to run the country = a load of nothing that should be completely ignored

Good thing for 11th Dec, ooof, tricky to find. I was tired and had to bail a bit early on my run, house was empty so got to have a quiet sit down. T met up with his mates from school, I am grateful that he has such lovely friends and I never have to worry about them when they get together.

More catching up on the good things - on Tuesday #1 son came with me to my circuits class, so good to do something with him. Plus I can comfortably sled-push the same weight as him so now he's a bit scared of me.

Catch-up with the good things, on Monday we had everyone home so time to decorate the tree. Christmas choons on, Bailey's in my coffee, everyone happy and feeling festive ❤️

The good thing for 6th Dec was deciding to pick up #1 son from uni a day early. I'm so happy to see him and glad to get him home again. He's had a brilliant 1st term and seems very happy in himself. He is a blessing and a joy and I am lucky to have him. Pic of the tree at Cambridge Xmas market

Friday 5th's blessings included having the time to have a nap when I got home from work exhausted.

Yesterday's good thing was starting to decorate my office for Christmas. Really pleased with this detail

Yesterday 3rd Dec's good thing was definitely the joy and excitement in my 16 year old son's voice as he was telling me about how his newly-formed school rugby team had won their second ever match, very much against expectations. His happiness was infectious. I love that he enjoyed himself so much!

I'm going to carry on being thankful in December, but Monday was, as ever, challenging. It's the start of advent so I could break out the Christmas earrings-I have lots and my boys would spend ages choosing which ones. Wearing them now reminds me of my children when they were small and cute and fun.

My last thankful November day had lots of good things. The hot water bottle that heated my clothes so they were toasty to put on after a swim in 6° water, roast beef for dinner courtesy of my mum, sunshine, and a little time for sewing. Onwards to December!

Yesterday's good thing was smashing my 5k. I know other people's running is quite boring to hear about but I honestly never thought my body would ever be this capable again. I'm so very grateful to have recovered this much of my health.
Just hit my stretch goal of getting my 5k under 30 minutes 💪🏼which I was hoping to do by next summer. Need a new goal now! Dare I try to aim for a new lifetime pb (27:26 currently)? I never expected to get near it again but would only need to shave off 2.5 minutes and I'd be there. I think I'll try.

Catching up on the good things...
Yesterday, Friday 28th November. Waking up with time to drink my coffee in bed before getting ready for work. At least my day began calmly.
