I think I need to stop watching the news. Everything is fucking ridiculous. Can we not just stop all the bollocks and just get on with fixing all the broken shit? JFC everything is SO depressing.

The BBC is in crisis in the same way that GB News would be if you put Owen Jones on the board armed with a veto and plenty of coffee.

Thankful November
9th: I'm grateful I had the time and space to work on sewing projects this weekend so I could make a top I'm really happy with.

10th at school made some cool things, I'm glad that my boss and a governor at school cares about us enough to do these occasional fun activities with us😍

Anyone know why Vinted has scrambled all the sizing? It's now impossible to find anything! Had a few dresses on the marked as size 12 and now all showing as 16-18 so clearly cannot trust what comes back in searches. What a mess!

8th Nov Good Thing - weekend sunshine to enjoy. Ran with dog who did not want to cooperate in a sunflower field pic so faked an injury. Stopped Strava and began to carry her home. After 100m she wanted down and trotted off with no sign of the "Broken my leg" limp from before. Good job she's cute

7th of November is proving more challenging to find a Good Thing but I guess trying is the point of doing this. A tricky and long day at work didn't leave a lot of space but I'm grateful that my new role means people listen to me respectfully and appear to appreciate my input.

I see James Watson has died.

What did Watson discover?

Rosalind Franklin's lab notes.

Only we spell it 'S-T-E-A-L' these days.

6th day of thankfulness. #CelebrityTraitors, what a joy the final was to watch. From the lovely way they worked on the task as though their lives depended on it, to the twists and turns and final denouement, I was grinning and/or yelling at the screen throughout. Proper fun telly.

5th day of thankfulness - I am grateful I had my phone on me when I got locked in the loo in an almost deserted school, so I was only locked in for 25 minutes instead of overnight!

Day 4 of thankful November.

The good thing on Tuesday 4th was having the money and time to go to my circuits class because regardless of whether I felt like it beforehand, I'm always glad afterwards that I went.

I like my friend 's practice of thanksgiving in November so I am going to try to find good things to be grateful for through the month, here are the first few days to catch up.

1st: Eldest son called for a chat from university. I'm grateful that he seems so happy as he settles into his new life.

A few years ago my friend's son got leukaemia and relied on transfusions to stay alive. My husband agreed to donate blood in support of him and has now reached 25 donations. That's lots of armfuls. Well done love! You too may be able to save lives, find out here: NHS Blood Donation www.blood.co.uk

That humbling moment when you compare your body measurements to the size chart on an old sewing pattern 😫

Felt very slightly more human today so took some paracetamol and thought I would go for a run, idiot that I am. Now nearly broken after what turned out to be quite a short walk with the dog.

REV. BLACK (who was shot in the head with a pepper ball): “If this is what they’re doing to pastors, journalists, teachers, mothers, and the elderly gathered to sing and pray outside ICE facilities… what might they be doing to our neighbors who are behind those walls?”

TFW you finish your sewing project and sit down with a coffee and a pastry to watch #dragRaceUK, and find you've accidentally caught up already.

It's the time of year when I most mourn the passage of time. FB memories are all the brilliant half term things I found to do with my boys and now one is at uni and the other wouldn't be caught dead doing ANYTHING with his mum. I work in a school so am still on half term, my empty nest feels lonely.

A friend wanted a pincushion so spent yesterday making these. Charity shop china cups and fabric scraps. Fun to make!

I seem to have become the kind of middle-aged woman that does lake swimming and owns a wetsuit, gloves and socks. Forgot to get a photo kitted up at the lake but omg what a difference it makes! Last time I was shivering uncontrollably afterwards and my hands and feet were painful but not this time!

Uh oh, just had to chase away a visitor to my pond! I have lots of rocks in there for the fish to hide under but obvs they were just milling about. Fools.

Watching Nine Bodies In A Morgue In Mexico on iPlayer. Really enjoying it, like Lost without the bullshit. Great cast.

Finally our turn to play boot Tetris and pack #1 son off to university. Hope all the Freshers find their tribe and remember to message their old mum occasionally.
