The Arts. A bit of football. A bit of politics. Silly stuff.
Love & Peace and plenty of it.

EXCLUSIVE: The Belmont Cinema is in line to receive £1.5m funding from the National Lottery. I talked to the cinema's chief executive Matt Buchanan and he told me he is looking at the popular venue reopening next year. Which is wonderful!

Are Scotland going to participate in the World Cup?
I have mixed feelings about it.
If I'd been old enough to understand, I'd have been all for boycotting Argentina '78.
Sport and morals are inextricable, so it's a dilemma.

Not my photo because I wasn't in Berlin last week.
Evie was though.

I was reminded about this yesterday.
1993/94
AC Milan won Serie A, scoring only 36 goals.
They only conceded 15.
Largely due to Maldini and Baresi.
Must have been watching video tapes of Miller and McLeish.
Atalanta and Udinese scored 35 and went down.
Funny old game Saint.

I hadn't heard of the Ekkono Method until today.
I'm guessing it doesn't involve shouting, 'You were shit today. You're dropped. No. Don't sulk about it. Try harder and get back in.'

Stewart Lee: Nakedly imperialist oil wars just aren’t what they used to be
Call me nostalgic, but didn’t the US used to have a cover story for invading South American countries – or at least have a president who could remember what it was?

If the Palestine Action hunger strikers die - which they could do at any moment, as they are now very close to the end - it will be the government that killed them. Today’s column explains why. Please share, and write urgently to your MP.

Let’s be clear: if the Palestine Action hunger strikers die, the government will bear moral responsibility | George Monbiot
The three remaining hunger strikers have been convicted of nothing. Yet with astonishing cruelty, ministers refuse to listen to their reasonable demands, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

You don't drop an album.
You release an album.
You can drop a teacup.
But it's better to avoid that too really.
